I agree it needs to be addressed, but ngl, I really like Tremble.  He's just been underutilized and stuck in dysfunctional offenses his entire career.  When he gets the ball in his hands, he makes plays, period.  Even with him more featured, we still need help there though.

Day drinking on the weekend. Fair play.

I agree. Still want to add Theo Johnson or Wiley in draft but Tremble needs his opportunities.

Guards were the bigger deal for us by far.

And the talent at TE just wasn't there.

We went the right direction.

TEs that got gobbled up we're overpaid.

Robert Tonyan would be a dude I take a two-year flyer on.  I'm seeing he's still a FA.  A JAG TE, but would be head and shoulders better than anything we have.

I disagree about the lack of talent, BTW.  We couldn't afford what talent that was at the top of the market with all the holes we had.  Just because we weren't willing to pay market price doesn't mean the market was bad.  You can't tell me you wouldn't take Henry, Knox, Gesicki, Fant, Everett, Dissly, Smith, or Schultz over ANY dude in our current TE room.

I think we spent money where we needed it most. The TE talent that was available wasn't enough to make us deviate from what we did.

It won't take much to improve on what we have at TE, but that money was better spent elsewhere.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
