Be prepared, the goons will be out from this point on. You all know it’s coming, prepare for it. Just hope we get through without further injury.

Guenz - Aho - Svech(Enforcer)

Necas - KK(Enforcer) - TT

Martinook(Enforcer) - Staal(Shutdown) - Jarvis

Noesen(Enforcer) - Kuz - Drury(fighter)

Slavin - Burns(Shut downs)

Skjei - TDA(Enforcer)

Orlov(Shut down) - Chatty(Scraper)

Seems like Rod has the enforcing pretty well distributed right now in anticipation of this. I think TDA will direct draw into Skjei’s line. But he could push chatty up and pair orlov with TDA. I’d prefer direct draw in though.

Sorry ladies and gents..  but I don't post durning games usually.. Last night they needed me to focus on what was at hand..   23 shoots on goal at one time and one goal.   whew..

I'll admit,  I thought Rod pulled  Andersen and little too early at the 2:48 mark.  Down 3-1 ..

Sooooo glad he's out coach.   2 goals in 80 seconds..   and the magic had already happened before the Islanders knew what happened.   2: 48..  and we WIN.  Amazing. This can happen in the regular season...  but we're talking playoff hockey and it happening.

Loving that Maple Leaf win ..  F the Bruins ..

I usually have to catch games after they start, so I stay out of these threads to not catch spoilers.  I have to admit when it was 11:30pm and I was right at halfway through the 3rd I was thinking this wasn't looking good. I was ready for bed, but I knew the Isles are good at blowing leads so I checked the score.  Kind of wish now I wouldn't have done that, but man was it still magical to watch.  Jealous of you guys who were in the house last night.

My point here is I usually read through the thread the next day.  You guys really need to start on page 3-4 and read through it again; it's quite hilarious.  We are some of the most bipolar fans in the NHL.

Great win.  GO CANES!!!

I don't think the Isles can afford to go thug mode. They'll continue to rack up PIM and lose focus on winning the game.

I also don't think Patrick Roy will let them go down that road. He's building the Isles and they need to win 1 at home. I think they will.

If memory serves me correct, last year, games 1-2 vs the isles they played goon mode and it backfired horrendously for them.  Once they moved to playing real hockey they played well. Their team this year is worse so it won’t matter. But if they go goon, our speed and talent will takeover like last year.

    • There are a lot of moving parts to this type of questions and way too many variables to consider to really predict how the outcome would have been any different in 2023 with Dalton starting more than just one game.  But instead of focusing on that Seattle game, another game, and the game following it, are more intriguing to me.   Week 16 vs Green Bay.  Young had the best game of his rookie season.  23/36 (64%) for 312 with 2 TD and no INT.  Thielen (6/94), Chark (6/98) and Tremble (4/59) all had huge plays in the passing game. The running game was a different story.  Hubbard (16/43) and Sanders (3/3) combined for just 46 yards rushing.  Mays was starting at LG and Jensen at RG.  The offensive line was able to protect Young just enough to keep the Panthers in the game until the very end.  But this wasn't because they were playing at a high level, rather the Packers defense played horrible this game. But this horrible defensive effort by the Packers allowed us to see what could be possible if Young had time to process and throw. Fast forward to Week 17 vs Jacksonville.  The offense was shut out and the offensive line allowed 6 sacks and 8 more QH's.   If you go back and watch these games back to back, the line play if very noticeable.  When Young had time in process and move, he was spot on.  When the line collapsed, like most QBs, he was ineffective. When you draft a QB 1st overall in the draft, especially if you trade up to do so, you hope to get a QB that can make plays despite the struggles around him.  Think Newton his rookie year.  Should the Panthers have traded up in the 2023 draft to the 1st overall and should they have drafted Young at that spot? My opinion is no to the first question and no QB in 2023 was worth trading up to take in the top 10.  Neither Stroud, Richardson or Levis would have been worth it.   But none of them would have fared any better than Young either with the Panthers, in my opinion.  Stroud had a good season in Houston but he didn't have a Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson season.  He needed slightly above average talent in one of the worst divisions to make the playoffs. He had the season we were hoping for in Carolina but wasn't going to get with Young or Stroud. Now, I'm not trying to put Young up on a pedestal here.  There are a lot of questions that still surround him and his ability to be QB1 on the Panthers in the future.  But the issue last year wasn't just the play at the QB position.  And really, I don't think the WR issues were as much as people make them out to be.  The real issue on this offense was the line and the running game.  If your line can't get a push to run the ball or pass block to pass the ball, you have no offense.   Start Young. Start Dalton.  Draft Stroud, Richardson or Levis.  Kidnap Mahomes.  Doesn't matter, I think the end result would have been the same.
    • If you blink often, you might or might not have eye issues. If your eyes aren't dry, your blinking may be caused by stress. If your excessive blinking is caused by stress, find ways to relax. If a tic is unlikely, talk with your ophthalmologist. If you want to ensure that your eyes aren't puffy, put your eye gels and creams in the fridge. This coolness will help to reduce inflammation, plus it will feel great when you put it on. Be sure to use your gel or cream every day for optimal results. Keep saline solution within reach. You can easily protect your eyes at work by wearing goggles. However, most people don't wear goggles for cleaning up in the home. If cleaning chemicals or soaps get into your eye, your first step should be to rinse the eye thoroughly using saline solution. Use a cotton wool pad soaked in a solution of rose water and a couple of drops of castor oil. When you place these pads on the eyelids, you can reduce the effects of eye burn. Other irritating issues with your eyes can be diminished or avoided using this method as well.   Read This Also:   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/a484a905-2985-4ca2-a25d-47c97ef83b12   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/f60130c8-5c59-4a60-94e8-61f3abcbdf41   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/f1ca107a-2c32-4b0d-bfcf-4efc6021149c   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/735f7e69-c489-4962-a244-aa3fa91bfddc   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/8323f628-d520-4b42-a38c-990f289863dd   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/6f4d5f82-d12f-492f-b5eb-0bb5d220bd99   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/525e1033-ad79-4cb9-bed6-2866753611a0   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/0107abb0-cf2b-41bf-aad4-cd573505fc54   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/3f30e8c3-bbed-437d-ba23-f70b993ed2d9   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/f562319d-a34d-44a5-89b1-8350a3b0fe98   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/919d41bf-cb97-41f7-8249-19636b72455d   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/0934fc64-a653-4379-ace8-a568b0dea68b   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/78269853-0517-4f12-92c3-4be1c1aa13fb   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/b0c67b70-be1f-4107-84de-3fa83dbb56ba   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/06788542-58c6-4ae5-910b-ecbb78500d6c   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/589fb52b-bddf-429b-888d-f940019741de   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/805194cc-1664-4e4e-8bfb-5a8a9dcc1060   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/f67e3cd7-f097-4969-b5ef-c7044bfd998f   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/75948776-07ce-48c8-9871-1422ac7769e4   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/dc8fc1e3-6216-441c-a44f-42447f6695dc   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/215da7df-0d21-4031-941a-d6327ebc39d9   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/759c4712-b49b-4ea6-9220-17e8ec3b7939   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/97b66549-5a25-421f-a053-e63fc7f6334a   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/87b56a8e-4c45-481d-b36a-c54e4da1366b   https://manifold.ecds.emory.edu/groups/9f1b82a9-c028-4b85-8d25-3733c7d67516
