The draft makes people upset because we all develop patterns and strong opinions about who we should draft and when that plan is breached, we have to readjust.  I try to look at it from the perspective of what I think they are going to do, not what I know they need to do and if they don't, they are wrong.  I must admit, I was hoping for a RB later, but a RB could be the most bang for the buck.  There used to be a day when they were really coveted. I don't mind drafting a RB on day 2, but I mind giving them contract #2.  I just wonder if the new Guards have not already addressed the problem.

I am old school and would love it but for a bunch of years think you can along pretty well with good or excellent but not quite special.

Case in point Kamara in the 3rd vs CMC top 10.

Seriously... Juan should be banned from posting twitter links if he's just going to post the links and not let them load into the posts first.

It's not that hard, more frustrating than just the idiots on here who post the most unrealistic ideas/situations.

Yeah, I can only keep editing his posts for so long lol

In fairness to Chuba....

When every player on the defense and every fan in the stands knows we aren't going to pass because we have the worst pass offense in the league it makes it tough to run for any back.

But we need a one two punch backfield we need someone that offers a different skillset we need a bruiser type to compliment him.

We also need a back that can pass block.  Chubba sucks in that area, and his hands are suspect.  So aside from toting the rock, he is a liability--especially when we become one-dimensional as you describe.

We could really use a cb and LB, but if they are determined to build around Bryce--you can't do it as well with a sub par RB and generic TE.   Maybe our thinking has been wrong.

RB's are a dime a dozen. If he doesn't do something this season you draft another and keep on drafting them. Not in the first round though.

Not gonna lie--personally, this would upset me.  There are only a few RBs in the league that rise above the status quo--dime a dozen label--and we had one here, but traded him.  I just do not see a special back that makes me think we would be much better off with him.  No CMCs, no Derrick Henrys.

Not sure about 39 but Benson is legit.  I would have him only behind Jacobs, Bijan, Gibbs, & Hall as a prospect, looking back since-2019.  Would add a whole new dimension to our offense.  Canales had Baker toss what 70 balls to White last year? That's not happening with Chuba.

Have sneakily been expecting this which is why I wouldn't get too bent out of shape.

    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
    • "In fact, they’ve worn silver pants just six times since 2023. Compare it to the number of times they’ve worn black (20), white (15) or process blue (11) pants in those same seasons and you start to wonder how long it’ll be before they promote their black alternate helmets to primary status and phase out silver entirely" Basically this - just eliminate silver from the colour scheme. Maybe experiment with white matte helmets as an alternate to the black ones too.
    • Ideally every player would win the job in a fair competition. Beat out the guy in front of you. If you can.     If XL is in front of a draft pick, the draft pick needs to beat him out. Whoever is in front of him.  Should be the way of the world.     Aside from that if they do want to trade XL they should give him a chance to rehabilitate his rep and up his value. Showcase.   But then if he proves he is worth something you want to trade him away?  I do  no t think we would save all his guaranteed money, for one.  Not sure though.     And finally, today I posted about Bryce throwing it away on 4th down.   It got me thinking of the mental stuff with XL. What Bryce did was just about as bad as XL’s mental lapses in terms of being ignorant.   I bet there are some Bryce supporting XL haters here, that one is for you.
