he got away from football, spent a lot of time alone and watched Netflix and you tube.   He eventually added back in working out in the morning.   I mean, the honest answer doesn't make you feel good about a struggling rookie QB with a host of issues.

"Literally. Nothing," he replied with a laugh. "I was kind of away from football for the most part, just living every other aspect of my life. Just hanging out, being around family, being around friends, getting back to a routine that doesn't revolve as much around football. For me, it was still being able to just enjoy and work out, but the Xs and Os actual football part, kind of stepping away from it.

Sorry dude I don't do the blind faith thing on here that so many do.   We have 16 games now to judge him on.   If he turns it around great.   I'll eat crow if not I won't be like you guys and roll out the excuses........again.

It's not blind faith...it's just supporting the team you supposedly like. It doesn't matter if the QB balls out or sucks ass, I'm gonna root for them to do well, you know, because I'm a fan of the team. It's really not that deep man.

everyone before rookie season: we need to let him develop. give him a few years. qb's are too rushed to produce now.

you after 16 games: he's a bust.

The last few pages of this thread are why we can't even have convos about the QB. The first day of basic OTA's in May and some people are already trying to dunk on others over anything.

How about we save that for if and when our offense (Bryce included) actually looks formidable in the preseason.

and he spent the offseason putting on tons of muscle and getting jacked.   Which was basically the talk of the board as camp approached.  And that 1100 season was then followed by an almost 2k season. 

what did Bryce do? Watched Netflix and you tube....per Bryce.  So it's hard to really think we will see a CMC uptick in year 2 when our QB took the offseason off of football. 

There were some. There were legitimately some. I remember one or two posters in particular that shat on CMC the entire rookie campaign and said Kamara was the better RB and CMC couldn't make people miss, "Couldn't juke or even hurdle" anyone, and a few other thinly veiled skin pigment related criticisms.

They don't talk much on here anymore.

      First off, my memory is faulty and so I should remember you. Anyways, welcome back. Having been around here since 2004/2005, I do have to say all these hot takes are not necessary new. I still very much remember all the constant complaints about Jake Delhomme. How he was too inaccurate, fumbled the ball too often, threw bad interceptions, and how Steve Smith deserved a better QB. How this franchise needed to replace Jake for someone better because he dragged everyone down. We even had names for Jake defenders; Blind Delhomme Jock Sniffers (BDJS). That one thread about Chris Weinke over Jake Delhomme because Weinke threw for 423 Yards but only scoring 13 points remains the worst hot takes I've ever seen around here. So to me, it feels like history repeating itself again and I don't feel like getting that much involved in flame wars like I used to. I am more of a sit back and see what the players/team does type of person. And even then, yes, there are so many moving parts that it's not as easy to pinpoint the core issues, especially when you're not inside the building and know every single detail.  And yes, I think even way back then, I hated how overvalued the QB position was and it hasn't gotten much better. It's to where my philosophy has shifted to where if you can't win a SB with a QB on their rookie contract, you might as well get another one. Otherwise, you have to give that QB so much money that the rest of the roster suffers and your window becomes quite narrow.  That's why I'm skeptical that Mahomes/Burrow/Jackson/Allen will win more than one or two SB's between them. None of them look as invisible as they did a few years ago and that's because their targets are much inferior and/or they are getting more roughed up behind a worse O-line.

      Haha I was still off was thinking of mac jones he has done extremely well this year with basically no weopons as all the 49ers are hurt except for mcaffrey but he is playing slow this year for some reason.
