Caleb Williams is struggling big time in OTAs

Watching the Bears over hype him after historically bad QB play on that team has been fun, well that and crap coaching. It's like they learned nothing from last year even if the players are polar opposites. I don't see a Cam in him, he looks like what I feared Cam was coming out early in his draft process where Cam made me feel better as it went along and Williams made be doubt more. I still don't see how he ends up the best QB in his class.

The funniest thing is that they could walk from him next year and just waste a bonus pick while still picking in the top 5 again.

Part of me wanted Caleb last year but his occasional struggles during his final season gave me pause. Can't put too much stock on OTA performances but I have this feeling that Caleb is going to be rather erratic, some real big highs but some absolute stinkers.

He strikes me as a lackadaisical type that doesn't really care about the game or putting in the work but has a lot of effortless talent so he has been able to skate on by

Chicago always blows their offensive picks. Its an epidemic. Wouldn't surprise me if Rome busts too

More likely Rome ends up being a waste of talent there. Won't be his fault.

it's almost like maybe not draft a Bryce or Caleb #1 over all when they didn't do anything to elevate their teams in their final college seasons. I guess you have to pick someone and at least they didn't do a ridiculous trade up for him. Cam was the best player at Auburn and willed his team to a championship, the other 2 just mentioned didn't even make the college playoffs in their senior years. How is that not a red flag?

I gotta admit, it will be highly entertaining if he busts after watching Bears fans act like they have a HOF QB when he hasn't taken an NFL snap yet. You'd think fans if an organization with a long history of QB futility would be a little more cautious than that but "fan" is short for "fanatic" for a reason.

Gee that sounds awful familiar.

I’d say, obviously not referring to you.

There were a few people that were fully aboard the Bryce train but it honestly felt like a minority.

They were definitely more focused on being right about the draft pick than which QB would actually pan out. It got tiresome, and I'm pretty sure 80% of them have not appeared since week 2 of last year?

I just remember being ridiculed for dissenting on the Young narrative here. Which was he is ... well, y’all remember.

Last preseason (excluding a little post draft bitching), since there was no pro evidence, I couldn’t talk until football was played on the field. Fair enough.

We have 16 games documented, I can speak freely. The Young supporters hate that.

Bad teams tend to do bad things but these guys also have agents who do too good of a job sometimes. I really wonder how infested some teams are with input from the media....because most of those are terrible and lazy in the draft process.

The way they have been acting makes me think they deserve that outcome. They should have celebrated the hell out of the free pick for sure but what they have done since the draft just looks like they learned nothing from their team history or what Carolina went through last year.

    • Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter. We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.
    • I am curious who's behind all of this though. A video and photos from years ago surfacing? Someone has a vendetta and is driving this PR campaign. I'm loving it, but I'd also like to know who said mystery figure is.
    • I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.  It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.  When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.  I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.  See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.
