Is Charlotte the worst sports city right now?

Maybe in the US but if you want to talk the world I would say it would have to be whatever city in whatever country it is where every time their stupid soccer team loses they riot, tear down the stadium, burn the city then execute the players. Now that's the epitome of a poo hole sports city. We aren't very good in Charlotte but at least we aren't that level of stupid and ignorant.

Minus the executions, pretty sure numerous college towns have suffered from riots.

Charlotte is a terrible sports city. Always has been. Can’t dismiss Charlotte FC either.

It’s a good thing the Canes are in Raleigh.

I joke about this all the time.

No disrespect to Charlotte it's a cool city but it's the wrong location for pro sports in North Carolina.

Raleigh is the heartbeat of the Carolina's. The passion is in that city. The vibe in Charlotte is more laid back. Come to Raleigh and the vibe is much more live. The people are looking for a good time and will support anything local. The Canes have the best sports crowd in the Carolina's. That's including all college sports.

If the Tepper's are listening do the right thing move the team to Raleigh.

Hornets are a cursed franchise. Maybe it's a mascot sharing a name with a notorious hurricane, or the ghost of Bobby Phills, or George Shinn making a pact with the devil, or LJ's broken back or Zo not being worth the money, or Adam Morrison lingering stink, or some combination of all those and more. They are never going to be good. Even when they were adored in the good old days, they still weren't very good.

All that said, Atlanta is a pretty bad sports town. Take out all the SEC fanbases in the vicinity and it is very bleak indeed.

No, please, no.

Keep the garbage in Charlotte. No need to drag another city into the cesspool of professional sports that Charlotte has become. With any luck, maybe the soccer team can avoid the curse of Charlotte.

    • I didn't think the Rams game was a stellar performance. Like I said it was a good performance, but not one I would put in front of 31 other starting QBs and tell them that's the pinnacle of NFL QB performance.  He was responsible for  2 TDs in truth,  but he gets credit for 3. The screen to Chuba was all Chuba after the catch.  He looked stellar in Atl, he looked good against the Rams. Different swagger, different feel, different command of the offense. Good performance, not a stellar one, IMO.
    • I'll rehash / summarize the breakdown I gave earlier. McMillan vs Olave: probably a push (could become an advantage as soon as next season, but not just yet) Legette vs Pretty Much Anybody: Yeah, that's a loss, arguably a big one. Jalen Coker vs Dante Pettis: Probably a push if I'm being objective. I'd take Coker but I can't say people outside the Panthers fanbase would. Our TE by Committee vs Juwan Johnson: Another loss Hubbard or Dowdle individually vs Kamara: Again, probably a push if I'm objective. Kamara might not be as durable as he used to but our guys are younger and neither of them made it through a full season healthy this year either. Hubbard / Dowdle as a combo vs Kamara and his backup: This could be an advantage (would be our first if it were) but only if Dowdle were at full strength and I don't think he is yet. Whoever's Playing Center This Week vs Fortner: Yeah, loss. Puts us down by three at this point. Our Left Side (Lewis, Ickey) vs Their Left Side (Radunz, Banks): This is the first comparison where I feel confused giving us the advantage, but it's not a blowout win, and not enough to put us ahead, especially when you move to...  Our Right Side (Moton, Corbett?) vs Their Right Side (Ruiz, Fuaga): At full strength, we win. Sadly we're not at full strength and haven't been all year. So again, loss.i FINAL SCORE: - 1 win - 4 losses - 3 even We lose by three. If you disagree on these, show me where and why.
