Trade everyone and fully rebuild..

Heard this is on the local Raleigh radio station and they make a great point. Minus the two guards and mayyybe Brown, trade as many people as possible, gather a ton of draft picks, and just fully rebuild. Treat it like the 95 expansion team.  The team is clearly bad and nowher close to being competitive, But we do have some value.

My questions is, what players could fetch what picks?

Can probably get some decent day 3 picks for Diontae (Chiefs make sense IMO), Theilen, and Clowney (Lions make sense) from contenders. Maybe something like conditional 4th or 5th round picks that upgrade based on playing time/stats/team success.

Can probably get a late-round pick swap for Miles Sanders.

Getting the sense the Panthers are not playing Bryce so they can sucker some team into sending a conditional 3rd to them if/when a starting QB goes down.

Not really sure who else is left that would garner any interest from teams.

We've traded everyone worth a sht. We have nothing to trade. I like the additions to the offence if they all pan out. Go defense next year and the following year a mix... thats where we are at. Keep a plan, keep some stability and cohesion.. we 3 years out...unless Dipper gets a hair up his azz and blows it up again...then, we're 5 years out at best. Unless this ahole catches a clue...its gonna be awhile...if ever.

The thing is, who are you going to get to come to Carolina? Who really wants to play for this organization after what they’ve seen with David Tepper as the owner? No coach would want to be the head coach for this organization. Let’s face it, we are not a destination franchise.

Most of the value pieces on this team have already been traded for non-magic beans. That said, there is something to committing to a rebuild that has a plan and takes tangible, measured steps towards that end. Instead, we have had the opposite of that approach, and it's been more like willy-nilly get rich quick schemes year after year.

Acquiring as many draft picks as we can is not going to do anything if we don’t have a better college scouting team for this organization. We are just going to be in the same position we are now with the scouting team and the front office drafting the same lame ducks as always.

In order to get value you must have talent!

Sir with all due respect can you name me a single star on this roster?

Trading Johnson for a 3rd round pick is probably the best we could do. A 3rd round pick is not helping us accomplish anything.

Sorry but we have nothing to trade to do a true rebuild. We have a roster full of JAGS. Nobody is getting us a 1st or 2nd round pick. Those picks have value and we just don't have those kind of players on our roster sadly.

I am in favor of adding more picks. But as has been stated it doesn't matter as long as we have the same scouting staff and the same people ultimately making the final decision.

Also let's be as realistic as possible about the value of 99% of the players on our roster. That is anyone not named Derrick Brown. They aren't worth more than mid to late rounders. If anyone is hoping for someone like Diontae Johnson to fetch a 3rd keep dreaming.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
