Positive signs from Bryce

It seems to me that people that say he played better or have anything positive to say just look at the stats and didn’t actually watch him play. The short opening drive was decent (even though the td pass was behind XL and should have been picked or knocked down but XL did a great job securing it). From that point on until garbage time against prevent defense he was atrocious. One maybe two decent plays the whole time. Half his positive stats came in garbage time. That’s not better. There’s nothing positive to draw from that.

I watched the entire game and he also played against a top defense which no QB has done well against this year. Conversely, Bo Nix looked like he was playing against a college defense

Here is what I think I saw:  He still bails too soon.  When he completes a pass downfield, you can almost see 300 lbs of pressure fly off his back--until the next bad play.  Slants are usually based on pre-snap reads and the rest is timing.  His screens were predetermined and frequent.  Reading the defense?  That is when I see him scrambling in a good pocket.  He has good plays as often as good QBs have bad plays.

Yeah and he still misses reads.

He's broken. Sad after just one season but it is what it is.

He would be best suited by a continued backup role and substantially less pressure on him. Hence why trading him would be good. Especially to a team with an established QB with zero starting QB controversy. Just reset and get your head right.

Well I don't think he played well, but he absolutely played better than the first 2 games. If he had played like this in his first 2 games this season, he probably wouldn't have been benched. Just more decisive and not afraid to throw the ball. The INTs weren't egregious to me. Miscommunication on one. The other is just lack of chemistry and a GREAT play by the DB. Made some decent throws and at least took a few shots downfield. Ramp up those downfield shots to 5+ a game and I'll feel better about his confidence.

I agree with all. And would add that these are primarily rookie mistakes and approaches. He's only a second year guy (3 games in) so not that far removed. Denver has a very good defense. It was a good showing against a tough D. This team is just not good. Bo Nix is no where as good as he looked against Carolina. He had as much time as he wanted to go through his progressions.

I'm not sure what everyone is up in arms about. Young had 2 decent drives last game so there's nothing wrong for giving him credit for that. Lord knows there's never been much to praise him for.

We see the insidious doings that lead to 2025 Bryce Young on the  Panthers roster and reliving the nightmare yet another year, making it three years wasted on huge mistake.

It is sort of like watching a toddler reaching its hand into a flame, after not learning the first time that it will burn you. You know what is about to happen. But it has to find out for itself. Problem is, I get burned too in this case.  Not just the toddler.

    • They are obviously waiting on for someone o the Seahawks or Patriots staff.  If they wanted Evero, it would be a done deal already. The only silver lining is if the guy they are waiting for turns them down.  In that instance I do think Evero is their backup plan.
    • Evero to the Raiders makes zero sense unless the OC he's pitching them is a failed HC who doesn't have interest in trying for it again. They're a team about to draft a QB #1 overall, developing him is job #1 for the new coach/staff.  Hiring a DC with a young up and coming OC wouldn't make any sense, because then you risk losing that OC to a HC job after maybe just a year or two and that young QB has to change system, play caller, etc. It's why hiring an offensive minded coach makes the only sense.  The Raiders have to make the right hire/pick with this HC hire and #1 pick combo because of that division they're in, it's a gauntlet and you can't screw up this opportunity.
    • 1. Sadly, it's just too early to tell with Icky. And the draft will have come and gone before we have anything, FA, too probably. Njiman was good, but there's dollars to be invested there as well. This is really our biggest puzzle to figure out. And Moton on the other flank is getting long in the tooth, too.  2. Coker: Pay the man WR2 money.  3. Most WRs take three years before you really know what you've got. We'll know for sure by the end of this one and he's still on a relatively inexpensive rookie contract. Now if someone comes calling for a good, good trade... 4. This is the make or break for good teams vs bad teams. And depth development is essential. We've had a bit of that but there isn't a spot on our line that doesn't have worries except for maybe on guard.  5. I think you draft the best ILB, the smartest one in the first round and don't look back. People lost their poo here on this board when we "wasted" a pick on Luke Kuechly.  6. Yeah, I think Chuba is a workhorse. But we need to be more decisive in his use. Still not sure Rico doesn't come back next season, too. He'll get to see the marketplace first, though, and we'll offer similar numbers to him.
