Exactly the type of thing he would have done here. The excuse people were stannin’ so hard claiming he would have looked just as bad. Just not true.

He would have still looked like the future, but our offensive line and weapons last year were horrible, CJ would have struggled and nobody would have been saying he's an elite QB (yet).  circumstances matter

It's impossible to say if he would have looked elite... I guess if you're saying he wouldn't be in the discussion of one of the best QBs in the league with us, probably true, lol, but I think he'd probably still show that talent. We don't know how that offense runs with CJ... Dalton made it look pretty decent in his one start. I doubt that CJ has the season he had with the Texans, but he also elevated Nico Collins a ton and took a journeyman in Noah Brown to his highest YPR of his career (4 more than any other year before it).

I think Stroud is trending toward a 15-20 ranked QB rather then top 7 like many have claimed. Young being such a bust and Stroud playing in a horrible division has helped him along. His mechanics have really started to fall apart. Still a win for Houston, he is a legit franchise QB but as a middle of the pack QB he needs more help.

Convince Houston of that and let's swing a trade. LOL

Stroud is clearly better, but his nutsack on everyone’s chin here is just as hyperbolic as Bryce’s ineptitude. Everyone should be praying he finds his Josh Allen 20th game lightbulb instead of torching and pitchforking for Nathan Peterman

    • I don't think any good HC candidate will have any interest in the Raiders unless that coach is absolutely in love with one of the QB's in this draft, and even then, I'm not sure they're taking that job. That is a team with very little going for it right now, on top of being in a division with Mahomes/Reid, Herbert/Harbaugh, Nix/Payton. The next closest division with a set up like that for the foreseeable future would probably be the NFC North, who even as good as they are, none of them are as good as any of those 3.  You could say the Bills/Patriots with Allen/Maye is better set up than the NFCN, but even then, that's still just 2 teams, not 3 like with the AFC West. And that's before even factoring in all the distractions that come along with been in Vegas. I genuinely think the Raiders job is the worst in the entire NFL right now.
    • A good QB would eat with TMac, Coker and the weapons we have. We need a QB, we need offensive line depth, and desperately, desperately need front 7 help. It's basically Derrick Brown and a bunch of JAGs. I suspect they'll go LB in the first, unless a QB unexpectedly drops.
    • Should be a shoe in, honestly. Relatively weak year though.
