The culture that has lead to all those back to back winning seasons right

No not that culture- A new culture that needs to be built and supported no matter what your draft order is—no excuses— WIN  or make every effort to win now and in the future.

Panthers aren't winning another game this season so I don't know what you are worried about. We'll pick top 4 with a 3-14 record. I do think a team will finish 5-12 and end up picking 10th, because there are that many bad teams

Maybe, but maybe not in the end (in regards to a 5-12 team picking 10th).

I pointed this out in a thread last night, but the bottom 8 teams in the standings right now have A LOT of games against each other, where someone has to win.

Here are the clearly winnable games for those bottom 8 teams, 5 of them play at least 2 of the other 7 from this group still, so just by default, there will be a lot of wins from these teams still to come, as I'm sure there will also be an upset win or two from this group as well in addition to these possible wins.

Jags (2 wins) - Titans x2, Raiders, Jets, Colts

Giants (2 wins) - Cowboys, Saints, Colts

Titans (2 wins) - Jags x2, Colts

Browns (2 wins) - Saints, (Dolphins if they sit Tua as it's 2nd to last game)

Raiders (2 wins) - Jags, Saints

Patriots (3 wins) - Colts, Rams (it's home this week, 1pm game, Rams on short week)

Saints (3 wins) - Browns, Giants, Raiders

Jets (3 wins) - Colts, Jags, (also Dolphins last week if no Tua)

If you had stopped at 5-6 years I would be with you but come on, Cam was the culture.

For a few years there it felt like we had the Lebron of the NFL.

Cam is the GOAT dual threat, but we've never been able to have back to back seasons with winning records despite the late season surge winning streaks, my favorite being the year we won the south in the 2nd half of the season. But winning 2 games late in the year against bad teams doesn't establish a "winning culture"

If they beat the Falcons bucs once, competitive against the chiefs and eagles i will have no problem with wins then because it's against legitimate competition but beating the giants and saints just to feel good, hard pass.

building ≠ built

as in 'work in progress'

this iteration is just getting started.

As much as I want them to draft a QB in the first round, I don’t see it happening. The team has too many needs and they’re married to Bryce at least one more season unless they trade him. The first round pick should be a defensive player. Hopefully they can get the top LB or DE in the draft because the defense is turds right now.

I would not mind if they took a chance on a 3rd or 4th round QB with some physical talent. Replacing Dalton as the veteran backup is a priority, getting a younger backup QB who might have some ability to start long term would be a better option. There will be a glut of reclamation QBs to choose from.

Delaying your QB position is how we continue to suck. We had 2 years of Bryce he's not the answer!

My goodness people do you not see other franchises get their QB's and change there franchise overnight. Why can't we do the same?

Texans/Commanders/Patriots all got bright futures because they drafted a franchise QB.

We just wasting years by not addressing the most important position in football. This fanbase is becoming blind. We haven't fixed the QB position since Tepper took over.

Enough is Enough! Go get your damn QB!

People aren't saying no to drafting a QB in the first round without reason. Every team you mentioned , Texans/Commanders/Patriots, all got their QB of the future in a "loaded" draft for the QB position. This draft does not have that. I agree that regardless of the thoughts related to how good or great this draft (or any draft is), drafting a player is still a gamble. In a "loaded" draft for the QB position we drafted a dud.

I agree that we have to keep attempting to get the guy. But to say F it and draft one in the first round every year isn't ideal. Because you have to put a team around that rookie. The Bryce trade up not only hurt us by him not being the guy, but we traded a good player and assets that could've been used to help build a roster. So we are back to having to rebuild the roster as well as finding the franchise QB. Tough task. Don't think its cut and dry just draft a QB in first round until you get him. I agree that you do have to find one. I just don't think its easy as find the guy. Cause now not only do you have to find the guy, you have to find the guy that can do it without help. Which is even more of a diamond in the rough.

    • I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.
    • I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.
    • Sadiq feels like a lazy comp.  Sure he would be a big improvement over what we have but at a position we don't and maybe can't (midget qb) utilize.  I hope the staff puts together a list of players you automatically take at 19 (Freeling, Lemon, Downs, Faulk) and if none are there, trade back to look at (Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Proctor, Lomu, Allen, Iheanachor, Banks, Woods).  I get the people that think an OT would be a waste because we temporarily patched that hole, and ILB and safety are a waste because that is high to take those particular positions, but by trading back we get extra picks to fill every need.  A draft that has an OT, S, ILB, slot WR, and C would really put us in a good position moving forward if we get an extra first three rounds additional pick.
