Best Offensive Line in Years

We can get another established veteran like Dalton or Flacco, I think. That is more my speed than a bust 1st round QB gamble or some career backup. Get someone that has done it in the past and can manage the offense effectively enough to develop young players.

I think Bryce would probably claim another coaching head if he started all the games next season.

You hit on a biggie. Development of the younger talent. Andy does this in spades. Getting a tempo for the game. Rhythm. The offense is showing completion sans a franchise QB.

I haven't been paying attention but are there any good OT's in the upcoming draft?

In the top 10 perhaps but I am not sure how much that makes sense unless the plan is to trade/cut Ikey or Moton.

There is a possible future path for Ikey at OG or RT if need be but that would be a mighty big waste of top 10 draft capital, IMO.

Ultimately, if the best OT tackle in the draft is available or is BPA, I am 100% for making that choice.

I'm just saying I wouldn't rule anything out. But yeah, I'm hoping Dan truly sticks to a bpa mindset. He didn't do that last year but the early results are somewhat trending in the right direction. It's not bad for not having a 1st round pick. Time will tell of course.

I believe Cade Mays will be a restricted FA

I guess in my head his rookie contract would have been 4yrs. 2022 draft pick so last year would be the last year of his deal. Guessing maybe when got sent to the practice squad or something it could of changed how it work?

Investment in the O-line should be a no-brainer for any NFL team, especially on the interior to deny defenders the shortest path to blow up a play. The fact the money we spent generated results should come as no surprise. Best part is that we can likely keep this foundation going for a while.

Still, probably best to always try and find an Ugly or two in the draft. Having good depth is critical, as is finding newer and cheaper replacements. I love Moton but I feel he'll be far too much money to keep around after 2026.

I would think he would be a very affordable re-signing. Also, this draft might be the one to finally draft a center.

I'm feeling surprising comfortable with Brady and Mays at center.  Hate to lose Brady's versatility on the line with all the injuries we've suffered, but he'll be afforable and effective.

You got to believe some team or teams are going to toss bags of money at Christ. His 2022 LG tape is top tier. He's shown upper level play at C and LT without reps.

I'd almost say if the Panthers were in great cap shape- tag the guy. *with intention of trading him

He's going to get some 5 years 80 million deal, if not more.

We need to draft the best center in the draft and take this line to the next level.

also, it’s a testament to how good Hunt and Lewis are, that they raise the level of guys that were scrubs last year

Jonathan Brooks is going to need to be really good for me to get over my anger about passing on Zack Frazier.

    • I don't know; I think it's close for the first half and if it gets ugly it'll be in the second half.
    • The thing is, I feel like last Sunday validated what I have been saying about Bryce.  And this is why I'm somewhat optimistic. He isn't a good QB, let me make that clear before the brigade storms into this thread, but the biggest difference between Bryce before last week and Bryce in the second half of last season was his lack of confidence and willingness to make plays downfield.  Last week was the first time this season he's had that "F It" mentality, the same he had when he came back last year when he just looked and played care-free (in a good way; he had a positive energy).  We need him to keep that energy the rest of the season because if he does, we can win games. It ain't always about being good.  Hell Jameis Winston isn't good (better than Bryce, but still), but he plays with such a confidence that his teams always have a chance.   If Bryce is down to be as aggressive as he was last week, I think the opportunities will be there against a weak and injured 49ers defense.
    • I don't have a great feeling about this game, but after last night I have a real good feeling about our chances to win the division. I think we might actually have a fair amount of wiggle room if Baker is out for an extended period of time, especially if he misses one or both of the games against us. 9-8 could very well win the NFC South this year. Hell, depending on how long Mayfield is out I wouldn't be shocked to see 8-9 win it.
