Thielen Catch

The ball moved in his hands when he hit the ground and he immediately went out of bounds - not a catch. Ball can't move at all even if it's still in the hands. Great effort though.

Also, like the Cotchery catch, it's a bit tough but if he gets it cleanly in the first place then anything else is (likely here, anyway) a moot point.

He has it secured the entire time. I don’t get why you would gaslight our own players for the sake of the refs ignorance and incompetence. The end result is we got cheated, purposeful or not.  You can’t coach, “hey catch this pass in a way that doesn’t get us cheated out of the game.”

Refs need to be held accountable and overruled in real time. It’s too much of good ole boy system. That’s why they never fix anything.

No he didn't. As I said, to my eyes the ball moved in his hands when he hit the ground and immediately went out of bounds before regaining full control. By rule that's not a catch.

I have to say also that I love that uniform combo. The blue jerseys are ugly IMO and the lighter blue is better but that darker color of pants with black jerseys is killer.

No man. When the shoulder hits the ground he doesn’t lose possession. His hands move and adjust with the ball but it is secured and not bobbled. That’s a TD.

In any scenario, if he catches it in the first place it's a TD. He didn't though.

Every catch in every game the ball moves a fraction if you wanna follow the letter of the law

Thielen immediately went out of bounds before he established/re-established control in the ref's eyes, and a moving ball/moving hands adds the element of doubt. That is the issue and why it's incomplete. Someone can bat and bobble the ball all the way down the field as long as they stay in bounds and have it in firm, clear control before going out of bounds. It was unfortunately not clear enough here.

It’s not about the ball moving, it’s whether he has control and he clearly did

Right, but the hand and ball movement introduces a big element of question. He clearly did not have full control in the eyes of the ref and I agree with that call, or at least understand it.

If he is in the middle of the end zone and not immediately going out of bounds and the exact same thing plays out then it's an unquestionable TD.

    • Leaning towards just ordering this tonight, but now I have no idea on size. Has anyone bought a bunch of jerseys in the last few years and can convey how the Game vs Limited vs Reebok versions all fit? These are both Mediums... The white one here is a Reebok one from 2010, and was when they had the "+2 length" on the tag and it was the version with the stitched numbers instead of iron on... the blue one is from 2022 and is the F.U.S.E Limited version also with stitched stuff, not the "game jersey" with the ironed on numbers/letters that they have the T-Mac jerseys in. The old one fits me fine, the blue one was always a tad snug on me, particularly in the shoulders I'm leaning going with a Large based on the CMC, but for all I know, that is made with a tighter cut due to the higher "limited" level and the "game" ones they have for T-Mac are cut more like a T-Shirt and thus will fit more like the old white one I have here, not sure. (and yes, I already tried going to a sporting goods store here to hopefully try on a Lions jersey to see, but they don't have any right now)
    • I think there's a ton of potential in that WR room. But they really are unproven right now. Hopefully they live up to the hype.
    • My unbelievable pile is touching the moon now-a-days. Bill is ultra control freak if there was ever one in the NFL, he's the guy. He stayed off SM and hate hate hated the media..........(wow bill what did you do in 2024??!?!?!).  So this guy, 100% control freak, just gave away all his SM to a 24 year old?? He doesn't understand SM at all... This is the same level as 8 time SB winner coming to coach UNC, after all this NIL BS that drove out his other control freak coaching friends.  This time line is insane.
