You replied to me as if I made the take. Are you confusing me with someone else?

YOU responded to MY post responding to someone else saying we should trade our 2026 1st for DK by saying how Bryce is the future.

All I was saying was how no matter what you think about him right now, he hasn't shown near enough to make that trade.

YOU inserted yourself into a separate discussion about trading that 1st for a WR.  You can't then get upset at me pointing out how my post had nothing to do with Bryce's future in a vacuum but in regards to him not showing enough to trade that future 1st rounder this offseason so we can overpay a WR.

You're basically saying that you can jump into the middle of a separate discussion with a completely irrelevant point, but if someone tries to steer it back to the original point, they're talking nonsense.

You can just admit you didn't read my post and/or the post I was responding to and you jumped the gun on this one, it's okay, nobody is going to fault you for it.

Thing is he would have been there in the second where we were but for some reason getting that 5th year options was really important to Morgan.
XL is a second round WR. We just moved up and drafted him in the first.

The price is paid now, he has to get better. Right now he doesn’t really deserve to be playing

Well they play each other, so one of them will even out. But you are missing literally the other five 3 win teams too.

Right and every time they win, the Panthers' draft position goes higher. Which would be cool, but it sucks because all these clutch drops, fumbles, missed kicks, missed tackles, missed blocks and missed throws that lead to excruciating loss after excruciating loss have a payout of...

Dan Morgan making a dumbass pick at the top of the draft again. So, while picking high should be great, it's not, because it's not making the team better. It just makes it more embarrassing from August-December of next year. They need to take Tepper and Morgan hunting in April and throw their phones in a lake.

And I've said we need that fast quick twitch slot guy as well, but if you draft Burden to be that guy, it still screws us over as we'd have a MASSIVE hole on the outside by still not having a true #1.

And once you then spent back to back 1st rounders on WR, as well as having Coker, plus all the holes in our defense, you're not splashing in free agency to get an outside #1 or using another 1st rounder the following year to get one.

So since you can get those quick twitch slot WRs in the middle rounds or in FA, you don't over draft one at the top of the 1st round just because we need one.

And this isn't an argument for T-Mac, it's an argument about building up a complete roster, not forcing picks to fill a need despite it not being the right draft slot to do so.

I've read analyses saying that Burden is more than a slot guy.

I think Legette will be ok. He's a rookie and wasn't quite ready to be a #1. Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen were supposed to be the top targets this season. Legette needs a season or two to reach his potential. We still need a faster playmaker though. That player has been missing since Steve Smith. Maybe Tedd Ginn. But his hands were even more suspect.

But Ginn could get open a lot more consistently too. He was a better route runner(not saying a lot), as well.

TBH, at this rate I would kill for XL to be as good as Ted Ginn.

he can and probably still will develop into a good player

but you consider the kind of QB Bryce is, playing the game with his head, you mesh that with how much synergy he has with Adam theilen, who plays with the same awareness, and you wonder why they didn’t like Ladd McConkey more.

Because the panthers are obsessed with drafting big ass project wrs  like funchess, Benjamin, Mingo, and Legette.

They literally never draft polished route runners or guys with excellent hands. They always go for height weight speed.  Pretty simple.

And it's a trend that has existed within the organization with multiple different owners, GMs, and coaching staffs.  The only correlation is the Panthers organization itself somehow. They have a type of WR they fall in love with every time.

We can hate on XL all we want but if Bryce doesn’t throw that INT, panthers win this game and this drop means nothing. Shoulda, coulda, woulda…Panthers by 21 next week.

I don't see this being mentioned enough.  Since philly scored off bryces int and we didn't turn philly over, that was the true difference in these game.

This is a cumulative reaction. His drops have been getting worse and this one directly cost us the chance to take the lead

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
