Not sure how being bottom 10 in passing justifies so much confidence..

I watched him throw the pick that lead to the points we lost by. I watched the 55% completion.

No one was talking to you. I was clearly talking to the OP. However, since you've responded as though I was speaking to you, it seems you know you're wrong and simply refuse to admit it. Because of that, we have nothing to discuss.

I get that there are fans out there that want to just say "slow ya roll" on the Bryce hype, as there are still mistakes mixed in there. But no one can say they aren't seeing improvement, which is the main reason for this new found hype/confidence. No one is sold that Bryce is a top 10 QB, we are all just excited that he is showing a lot of improvement. The best thing that could happen to this organization right now would be Bryce continuing to improve and it seems to be trending that way. Instead of throwing these poo posts/threads, just say you need to see more before you're sold and most will agree or at the least not complain or say you didn't even watch.

Also for those throwing mad shade at XL, i get that we have had a lot of trouble lately drafting WR's but we literally are watching Bryce crawl out of the darkness of QB bust hell. I don't get how you don't have patience for XL after going through what we've been through with Bryce. If he doesn't improve next year, then I will be out. I think we gambled on his upside seeing if he could be a 1, he isn't that. But he could be a great compliment to a 1. Give him time to improve. Dave and our OC have experience working with WR's. Time to put that experience to good use. His route running is definitely better than expected though not great/perfect.

Which part of the eye test did you like best, the part where here stared down the receiver the whole way and sailed a gift of a free INT to the safety resulting in a 10-14 point swing. Or the part where he threw the ball into the dirt 5+ yards behind the receiver on 4th down.

It's so crazy that you picked out the only two plays in the game.

Gee. You win.

Everyone calling him a franchise QB conveniently cherry picks only the good plays and ignores all the bad ones as well.

At least I can say he's made good plays, he's made bad plays, he's still inconsistent and is giving you the same production as Dalton did. Doesn't sound like a franchise QB to me but you do you.

Stats aside, it's all about the eye test for me. These last 3 weeks I've seen a franchise QB. If not for a botched snap and a egregious drop, we probably beat the two best teams in the NFL. Both times driving his team down the field to win the game. He's escaping the pocket more, making plays with his feet, making good NFL throws (still want to see his deep ball get better), reading the defense better, etc. I mean, just turn on his film from earlier in the year to now.......it is night and day.

Now, I have to see it for the remainder of the year before I jump on the bandwagon. But if you're still trying to downplay Bryce after what we've seen the last month, then you really do just want to see him fail.

The best team in the NFL is the Lions and they would dog dick this team

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
