Very possible.  He's good at identifying needs, but so far lacks identifying the talent.  He nailed nearly every position last draft we needed, but I would have got a different player at that position nearly every time.

Same here. But anyone can identify teams needs. GM’s get paid the big bucks to hit on their picks. He needs to do much better. Hated that we made him the GM in the first place.

Well, Morgan jumped the gun with Chuba, IMO.  Maybe by the time Young is up for his contract we could trade Hubbard.  I think Brooks career is already over. It's sad and I hate it or him, but he's got a slim to no chance of bouncing back. I wish him well.  That said, thinking he's our future is really bad planning.

Plus he hasn't looked very special in the limited action before he was injured.  I was expecting more of a pop when he touched the ball.  I'm only half kidding about Jeanty, but I wouldn't hate it if we drafted another running back later in the draft this year.

Chuba's contract is not bad at all. What he jumped the gun on was Brooks. Chuba was already an effective back, so why spend valuable second round resources on another RB, especially one with literally higher price point(at that time)?

I also think we have likely seen the last of Brooks, unfortunately. I know people reference the TD's and Gore's but those are outliers. I highly doubt Brooks will ever be the same RB as he was in college after this. It will take a tremendous amount of mental strength to be able to trust that knee ever again.

Regardless, you have to pivot and get a late round RB or free agent RB unless you want to be stuck with Sanders. Blackshear is not a realistic option as a #2 RB.

I’m more in favor of drafting or picking up an UDFA running back next off-season. Free agency should be focused on beefing up the defense and allowing us to fill out the rest of the holes with draft picks.

Hey, at least we stuck it to Jerry Jones....am I right????????  High Five Tomas Ferraro GIF

                                                                                                      Don't leave me hang'n!!!

Reminds me of Hurley taking Will Grier to beat the Patriots and left Maxx Crosby on the board. We actually had Crosby in as one of our 30 private visits but we took Grier. Fitterer got Mingo before the Cowboys did and I remember the discussion about getting TMJ before the Saints could. Gotta love how we fall on the grenades for other teams.

Although I like Brooks and he was a great player at Texas, even if you remove the injury, picking a RB in the second round was a questionable move. Could have had Zack Frazier and solidified the C position for a decade. Panthers gonna Panther every draft, pass up obviously good players for no obvious reason.

Damn... that sucks so, so bad for him. Just a year and a month after his surgery to basically get a new ACL only to tear it during his third game. Would be nice to hear if whether or not TD hit him up; if there's anybody that can relate to what JB's going through, it's the guy that did it not just twice but three years in a row.

He was looking like he belonged out there too. Fingers crossed that the rehab goes smoother than the previous procedure.

I wonder if this means that the team might try and keep Miles Sanders or move on from him still? He's done alright as the third down back up until the ankle injury.

    • So to suggest that our offensive weapons might not be as horrible as being claimed if we were to have Josh Allen throwing to them instead of Bryce is a stretch? Maybe they would be better, maybe not. But I'm not going to keep saying we need more weapons and more this and more that with a QB that struggles to get 200 yards passing in a game.  You're right, our receiving corp was ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league. Who was throwing to them? A bottom 3rd QB.  If the team wants to get better it has to be serious about the QB position. We aren't and no amount of adding weapons is going to solve the fact Bryce is a bottom tier QB or that the most serious camp competition he has ever faced was Andy Dalton.  If Carolina fans were watching any other franchise entrench themselves so vehemently around this level of QB production, we'd be laughing like he'll and waiting for our chance to play them twice a year.
    • I’ll also say agin, this is why I think we’re in a great spot this year to trade down, and maybe meeting with all these WRs is a smokescreen to try and make a WR needy team over trade to get our pick so we don’t take the guy they want. While at the same time, if Downs falls outside the Top 10, I’d be comfortable with darn near any trade involving our 2027 1st, to move up and get him.  He’s going to be one of th best Safeties in the game for years to come.
    • Teams we are better than in regards to the wr room without a doubt and there are other teams you could easily debate Ravens Pats bills miami pats jets ravens  browns jags (debatable for sure) titans Chiefs Raiders Giants (debatable) Saints  Skins
