Run Defense is historically bad

It takes more than injury to accomplish that feat.

I'm not giving him a pass per se, but it's hard to run an effective 3-4 without a legit NT. We've never had the personnel to run that scheme effectively, but it is his defense and he's responsible partly for how they have played and his schemes. Can't blame him for injuries or lack of the right players to fit the 3-4, but that soft, prevent D is all his to own.

3-4 doesn't necessarily have to go. That's just reactionary. The leagues top defenses are dominated by the 3-4.

Because they absolutely gutted his unit to prop up Young and then he's had injuries to compound things.

Pretty hard to build a defense with a bunch of cast aways. We gave up everything to put our offense in a place to succeed and well that went real well.

I remember this past off-season people arguing with me non-stop about how the trades and acquisitions were going to make the run defense much better.

The injury excuse is starting to wear thin with me. They’ve lost a couple marquee names but not a long list of them. They shouldn’t be historic levels of bad.
