What other qb is Bryce allowed to be compared to? This is a serious question

just list what qbs over the last two years you think he’s had comparable talent to because it’s exhausting reading people come up with reasons 31 other qbs have it better than Bryce

This. And I'm just trying to understand it. Who else has a o line this good?  He had 6 more yards passing then chuba had rushing yards, a lot of points came off turnovers and short field. So is he only a franchise qb when we can run the ball? Cuz that's all it's really been.

I’m sure you remember people on this very board calling cam newton a bust in 2012 and saying all the predraft criticism was right.

Bryce will never even sniff cams 2012 production. Unreal how far this franchise has fallen that people are going to the mat for this mediocrity elemental.

Since the benching, he's been playing pretty damn well. That Cowboys games scared me into thinking he may have reverted to his earlier self from his first 18 games of his career, but wow does he look much better.

17/26, 158 passing yards,  65% completions, 2 passing TDs, 0 INTs . 5 rushes 68 rushing yards, 13.6 yards per carry, 1 rushing TD.  HELL of a day. most important stat. NO TURNOVERS vs 3 total TDs he accounted for.

And this is coming from a Bryce Young hater. He hasn't converted me yet to believing he's the long term answer, but he's made huge strides in making me eat crow.

I saw some pin-point throws today and over the last few games that have been really encouraging. I saw him complete a pass while taking a gargantuan hit and get up and smile. I saw him running around like he was Kyler Murray today lol.

If this dude can get us out of the mud next year and lead us to a winning season or playoff berth. I'll officially be a Bryce Believer. Until then, lets just say im cautiously optimistic.

So what is the goal? Let him lead us to mediocrity for 5 yrs?

He’s the man for 2025 and I hope he can continue to inch forward. There isn’t much on the market for next year. What do you guys bashing Bryce expect us to do? Pay Darnold 25-30mil to come back? Bring in Rush? Would he be any better? Fields could get same type contract Dalton got. We need to get him a quick WR then load up on defense. You can continue to bash Bryce if you want, but there aren’t really better options in the immediate future. And all these 5th yr seniors In the draft are the same age as him.

If that was an option absolutely but I can’t imagine they wouldn’t at least demand a sign and trade.

How does a team demand a sign and trade from an unrestricted free agent?

What would he ever do that?

After everything we gave up, he should be close to 2015 Cam entering his 3rd year yet he cant even sniff Cam`s first or second seasons. Only thing we can hope for is Dave doesnt keep hanging on to Bryce after continuously showing he aint that guy next season.

Tepper has never shown a frustrating level patience with anything.  Fair to say it was Dave’s decision or at the least stamped by Dave to bench Bryce Young 2 games into this season (which was barely 1 full season of games before he was basically willing to move on).  Bryce got back do to injury and sort of slowly got the spot back by default/no choice.

Nothing is actually a given going forward. Dave is a bad owner.   Dave does apparently see meh on football field and generally moves away from it.  Issue is always the new direction he chooses isn’t always wise.  But he throws away weak hands quicker than almost anyone in the NFL

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
