We need edge LBs IMO.  I think Abdul Carter is a slightly better athlete but I fuggin love Jalen Walkers motor.  That guy plays all over and goes 100 every play.  From Salisbury as well.

Long term absolutely, but I dont think it's as pressing a need with clowney and wonnum performing well. Feel like WR and DT, and even CB, and even ILB may be more pressing needs given out recent free agent signings.

We're getting Mason Graham dammit and I refuse to hear anything else

You realize Graham will be off the board by the time we pick?

When you win meaningless games at the end of the season this is how you miss out on the top prospects. After Hunter gets drafted Graham is going to be the next best prospect on the board. No chance he last past the #5 pick.

Well if we lose out we very could be right back at 5. A Tennessee win at Jacksonville and a Raiders win in New Orleans this week would help us out. If we go win in Atlanta I wouldn’t be mad. Would love for Bryce to beat a young Penix in their dome

Great draft to go get help on the DL + EDGE.

EDGE is definitely deep, not so much high end talent you want to see annually, but a good amount of talent overall.  A lot of guys that could be in that JJ Jr, Byron Young, Tuli, Bonitto bracket that could blossom pretty quickly.

A lot of interesting R2-3 targets - Jack Sawyer, Donavon Ez, Mike Green.  Bradyn Swinson is a mid to late rounder that intrigues me too.

It won’t fix our biggest issue but pairing Will Johnson with Jaycee horn is awfully tempting…

You know, that's not the ideal situation given all of our needs. But, if we could pick up a starter on defense in FA and nab 2 or 3  starters after the 1st round in the 2025 draft, I wouldn't be upset with that scenario.

If Brown comes back healthy we've already gained 1 starter on the line. Let's say we find a safety or LB in FA. MHS831 had a good break down on who should be available after day 1. If we found a starting DE and DT to add up front we'd be significantly better at every level of the defense.

if Carter is still there, he's gotta be the guy at this point. don't love him at 4, but at 7? sure, pull the trigger

no Carter? Mykell Williams from Georgia

2nd round, I'm looking more and Deone Walker than the edges. If he's there to provide a big body in the middle, D Brown (if back healthy) should eat

I'm also enamored with Landon Jackson, simply on measurables. Seems more a hand in the dirt, 43 end than a 34 edge, but maybe he slides in a 34 DE on passing downs. Similar feelings (despite the crazy measurables) on Jack Sawyer.

If we're focusing on pass rushers from more of a stand up position, I'm also looking at Donovan Ezeiruaku and Kyle Kennard

Then there's Dani Dennis-Sutton, Jared Ivey,I've, Mike Green and was watching Patrick Payton, but looks like he's headed to LSU instead of the draft

When we were picking 5 they had us going after Carter and Graham being picked at 7. Graham could still be there at 7.

I think the key is to draft BPA in whatever position we are going to be in. It would be nice to win out even if it is meaningless. It will allow us to know what winning feels like and let that roll over into next season. We lost close games to good teams, but that experience for these players and coaches. It’s creating culture and experience for this team and develops a winning mentality and not a tanking mind set.

Needless to say the draft is deep on defense, maybe not top end talent, but enough talent to be day 1 starters to develop into top end talent.

I think Graham will be there and will be our pick. The two QBs and Hunter will be gone. And there will be at least two standouts from the combine, and then all of a sudden Graham’s “short arms” will be an issue for teams. It happens every year

Current draft order

NYG, NE, JAX, TN, CLE, LV, CAR.

We need to ask ourselves "what is the biggest need of those teams heading into the draft"? And, "What positions do we know are not major needs for the teams above?"

JAX is terrible, but we know they won't be drafting a QB. The Patriots won't be either. The Raiders and Giants definitely need a QB. The Browns have one under contract, but he's been terrible since they signed him. I could see all 3 of them eyeing QB's.

Hunter is a wild card. He could be the first player taken. Or, he could slip because some teams may not want to deal with his insistence on playing both ways.

A team with a bad O-line may want to go LT

TMAC is going to appeal to a team that needs a playmaker at WR.

If CB is major need, I could see Will Thomas (or Hunter) coming off the board prior to our selection at #7.

It's possible that Graham could fall into our laps.

Then again we haven't factored FA into the equation. A lot of these teams will lure some players just because of the large amount of dollars they afford to play them and fix some needs before the draft.

It's going to be an interesting off-season.

    • Nobody is giving up a 4th rounder for a backup QB And anyone who needs a starter badly enough to where Bryce would then be their starter, is such a bad team that they're not giving up a pick likely to be about pick 105ish overall, instead of just dealing with a bad QB situation for a season and then drafting one in a loaded QB draft next year. I'm looking through all the teams right now and can't think of a single one that would be willing to part with anything better than a 6th rounder. Barring injuries (and excluding the Panthers), there look to be 10 teams who don't know with 100% certainty who their starting QB will be in 2027... Dolphins, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Saints, Falcons, Cardinals, and Rams. Of those 10...  The Rams know it will be Stafford or Simpson.  The Saints more than likely will be sticking with Shough unless he takes a huge step backwards.  So neither are giving up any draft picks for Bryce right now, just wouldn't make sense for either. Down to 8 Given their current QB situation of having multiple QBs they already need to evaluate between this year, the Browns (Shedeur/Watson), Vikings (Kyler/JJ), Colts (Jones/Richardson/Leonard), and Falcons (Penix/Tua), wouldn't be giving up a 4th (or maybe any pick) to bring in another QB to muddy the waters even more. Down to 4 Dolphins just signed Willis and wouldn't want to bring in another small Alabama QB who has struggled after just dumping Tua instead of just rolling with Ewers as the backup.   That then leaves the Steelers, Cardinals, and Jets left as it's clear none of them have any idea who their 2027 could be as of right now.  But the Steelers would for sure rather just see what one of the 2 QB's they drafted in the last 2 drafts could become than give up a mid round pick for Bryce.  Same goes for the Cardinals in taking Beck this past weekend. The Jets would be the most likely team to even consider taking him on, but I think it seems very apparent right now given them rolling with Geno and now talk of bringing in Wilson to be his backup, they're punting on QB this year to draft someone next year, so why give up even a mid round pick for Bryce?
    • Honestly I am not sure Pickett couldn’t step in for him. But I don’t see a clear easy upgrade and we are not KC with Alex Smith we are a team that hadn’t done poo for almost ten years and just made the playoffs. And looked good in the game. That stadium atmosphere on that day…. you know Tepper ate that poo up. Not one drink has been thrown in a while.  You had better make sure if you replaced him after that that you had a sure fire upgrade.
    • Makes sense. If Bryce is ass this year, we are probably drafting our new QB next draft and sitting him behind Bryce for a year
