Jayden Daniels and Commanders

Watching that game last night has me really thinking. The commanders are everything we hoped the Panthers become under new ownership. Unfortunately, we’ve gone in a completely opposite direction with David Tepper. In one year the commanders having the new owners have been able to completely resurrect their franchise and their franchise quarterback position for the next 15  years because Jaden Daniels looks like the best player on the field last night and the total game changer at the quarterback position. I can’t help but feel angry this morning at what has happened to our franchise.

don’t get me wrong I still have hope that Bryce Young will be able to lead this team for the promised land one day, but it’s going to require a ton of help a total rebuild of this roster which probably takes another few years. hate that we couldn’t do it the way that the commanders have done it basically turning around their franchise in one year.

It's amazing what getting the right FO and coaches can do for a team. Tepper is still trying to figure that out.

The funny thing here is that the HC they ended up wasn’t their first choice, they picked second which left them with the best two QBs in the draft to pick from etc. Sometimes you also need a bit of luck.

Sometimes the best move is the one you didn't make.

I hate the NFL for forcing JR out prior to Snyder. I'm not defending JR I'm just saying that Snyder was a way bigger POS and should've been forced out before JR and that would've saved us from Tepper since the NFL made it very clear that Tepper had already been hand picked as the next one in the clubhouse. And honestly the Teppers would've almost certainly preferred DC over Charlotte anyway.

Realistically, Tepper made the wrong choice in Rhule and GMs and the roster suffered. We jettisoned nearly all of our talent for the dream of a franchise QB, and Bryce (could still turn it around I suppose) hasn't been particularly good.  His best games have been rather average, while Daniels, like Stroud last year, has been phenomenal at times with a good to decentish defense.

^^^This, all day long.  It's not enough to be a multi-multi millionaire anymore.  if you aren't billionaire, step aside.  I agree Tepper was groomed to take over the next available team.  The JR scandal just was too convenient of an excuse to get Tepper's foot in the door.  Damn, why couldn't some other owner smacked a secretary on the @ss or something first?

The big difference for us is that Tepper wants to win and he’s prepared to spend to make it happen. What he has struggled with is trusting the wrong people and hiring the wrong people.

You are literally describing Dan Snyder.

How soon we forget the INSANE offseason signings they made early in his tenure.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
