Cooper Rush has started in place of Prescott as he has dealt with a hamstring injury. Rush has done a solid job and has kept the Cowboys afloat after the season started on the wrong foot. The Cowboys also have Trey Lance but he hasn't gotten much of an opportunity yet.

Both Rush and Lance will be available this upcoming offseason and it's unclear if either will be back to backup Prescott. We will find out more once free agency kicks off, but CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin predicted that Rush won't return and will instead sign with the Carolina Panthers to be Bryce Young's backu

if I was Rush, I'd stay with the Cowboys. Based on history, he'll end up being the permanent starter there after one too many Prescott injuries.

Eh, We'll see, gonna be a lot of movement this offseason.  I think theres just as good of a chance that Plummer is our backup next season as we have bringing someone like Rush in (Neither is gonna happen IMO).  Theres a bunch of QB needy teams and a weak QB class, so IMO someone like rush is gonna get a bag that he doesnt deserve.  Kinda reminds me of Matt Flynn, one good stretch gets you paid.  He may not get top FA QB money, but IMO he'll definitely get Gardner Minshew type money, like 10-11 a year.

IMO, Rush signs somewhere else, Lance returns to the cowboys on a friendly deal.  We on the other hand look into a vet FA like Flacco, or maybe Jameis Winston.

I don't see many starting jobs available.

 

Once Sanders and Ward are drafted you're looking at Vegas as that team who will be left out of a QB. He doesn't really fit there imo.

 

Why not come push Bryce for the starting job?
