Just can’t get behind Carter because I don’t feel like he’s truly the BPA until around pick 15.

For me, I’d go:

1. Will Johnson

2. Mason Graham

3. Tetairoa McMillan

4. Malaki Starks

5. Tyler Warren

now that we’re keeping Evero I think Starks is a VERY real possibility

Carter is top 2-3 overall on a lot of teams boards.

I think that is really premature to say.   Lots of question marks with him.   He is not strong vs the run,  just more of a speed rusher then anything and his technique and tackling need improvement.

That said if he comes to the combine and goes for a 4.4 at 6'2ish 250+ then someone in the top 5 will draft on that alone.  Id rather have tmac or graham.   Those are plug and play guys from day 1.

I think people are really sleeping on Evero and Scourton. That is EJ's prototype edge profile and build for stopping the run... and guess what we need help with the most? and he has 2023 tape to justify the pick. People are sleeping on the pairing.

I prefer Scourton to Carter. He’s much closer to the Bradley Chubb type of player that Evero wants as an EDGE. Only thing with Scourton is Jack Sawyer is just as good and you can get him in the second.

Carter is drawing comparisons to Brian Burns who we ran off.

I’m super high on him. Best safety to come out since Hamilton. Instant day one starter and I could see him being a top 10 free safety by seasons end.

High IQ kid that can play deep and in the slot

Obviously we need pass rush help or our secondary doesn’t stand a chance but I’m looking at 2026 as our first competitive year. I don’t want to take a pass rusher just for the sake of taking one. Starks will most likely be the best football player on the board at our pick.

Would be Evero’s new Justin Simmons

Where are those 2 projected to go in the draft? I need to check out the top 100 for this draft and try to figure out who may still be there at our 2nd round pick.

Both are projected 2nd round Grant maybe bottom of the 1st.  Grant was on that Michigan Dline with Graham.

Kenneth Grant- 6’3” 339 lbs

Deone Walker- 6’6” 344 lbs

Another interesting name for potential Day 2 pick Landon Jackson Arkansas, DL/Edge 6’ 7” 280 lbs.

We will have options if we miss out on Graham.

He has plenty of strength and good tackling technique.

he is fantastic in pursuit too.

He is just 250 speed guy.  As you say.

But hey, so was Von Miller and so was Micah Parsons (who had a similar path and who they comp him too)

both of those guys went to a 3-4 OLB and thrived.

Carter is no way strong enough to hold up in a 4-3.  Especially holding up in the run game at DE.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
