NFL Playoffs

That was weird. 2 refs with 2 different calls as that happened. It just happens to go the Chiefs way of course.

That happens on almost every play, of every game, refs almost never have the exact same spot on each side of the field and always comes down to whichever ref ends up getting handed the ball first.

The difference is that this was a 4th down play that was being decided by literal inches in the AFC Championship

Chiefs convert their 2pt attempt to go up 7; Bills and fans will blame the refs instead of the Bills blowing 2 2pt conversions and allowing that one. and there's Taylor Swift to trigger some more people

Mahomes can just run for 10+ yards any time he tries. They could literally just do that all game long and win.

It's bizzare how often Mahomes can run for big chunks every other play and it's like the Bills aren't looking for it at all. Force him to do something else to beat you.

seeing the replays again, that Bills 4th down play was obviously short

I wouldn't say obviously. The camera angles make it seem obvious one way or the other due to parallax error. We will never really know without knowing the exact position of the cameras. Side view seemed obviously short while the top camera seemed obviously good.

Ultimately, that isn't one where I personally would overturn the call on the field.

Now that is how you do a 2 pt conversion.

Bills have fuged that up all night.

I don't know why they don't put Allen in the shotgun like we did with Cam. Just trust your stud to see the play and hit the hole of his choice going downhill. Feels like they've let Philly's success running that play make them go away from what they should do best.

Yup. Bills should have kept that first conversion and then started chasing points with the second. Reminds me of Fox in the 2003 Super Bowl.

He was invisible the first game too. 2 for 8

true but he was invisible in a lot of regular season games the last couple years and yet hasn't had a single poor playoff game in 6 years. Last time he had less than 71 yards in a playoff game was 6 years ago. 14 straight games with at least that, looks like no chance he comes anywhere near that tonight.

That wouldn't work if he did it all the time. Not to mention he has gotten pretty injured several times in his career due to that.

He did. The ref on the side where you could see the ball in Josh’s left arm came in and spotted it at the line. The other ref came in short.

That was legitimately a game altering call and the refs pulled a Cotchery on it.

Sucks but the refs have too much pull in these games. Put a chip in the ball or use  AI to determine the exact spot. The refs have been spotting the ball short for the Bills on multiple plays.

Neither ref could actually see the ball, we literally couldn't even see the ball on the camera angle down the line that is like 10 feet in the air, because there were too many bodies in the way.

Do you really think the 5'8" ref standing on the field is going to be able to see that ball with all those 6'5" linemen surrounding the play like that?!?!?!

Want to argue for chips in the ball all you want, but there was nothing different in that play than any other spotting of the ball in every single NFL game, it wasn't the refs giving anything to KC, you just sound crazy saying things like that.

They are doing Bills stuff. TBH, they have played tight all night. Playing not to lose rather than playing to win it seems.

I think this is a bad matchup for him. They have good coverage guys on him.

    • I think you misunderstand what I mean by "significantly better than Bryce Young." That gets you entry into the top 30 NFL starting QB's. Not sure if you have seen that group recently, but it's not a strong one the further down that list you go. Murray is a Tier 3 if not Tier 4 QB in my book.
    • Here is where you are… for purely the sake of arguing with me you are willing to suggest the 2025 Saints RBs might not be better than the 2025 Panthers RBs lol Saints have the 28th ranked rush attack.  We are top 10.   The Saints haven’t had a 100 yard rusher the entire season.  We have seen franchise best performances in a franchise known for running the rock. and see above for what our OL is also clearly better than the Saints.  Hell, Canales being forced into some mashups has often made it even stronger at times
    • I am not saying there isn't truth to that but the economics and reality of the NFL are producing that. It's very hard to justify taking a guy in the 1st round, shelving him for years, having to make a contract extension and THEN hoping it all turns out okay. Not to mention, imagine that scenario after what we traded for Bryce. One thing is for certain, the QB desperation has led to bad 1st round QB picks for 15+ years now. That ain't new.  I think we need to decide on Bryce's future this offseason and we will have to. In my eyes, picking up the 5th year option is the "all-in" move for a two year period. That means you are committed to him in the medium term. Not the move I would personally make.  No matter what the decision is, I have been vocal about needing to bring in multiple QB's to improve that QB room for when Bryce falters again. How about just overall improving your team depth so that when it doesn't pan out, you at least have options on the roster? I don't feel like that is too much to ask and it's a valid bet hedge.
