Anything is possible, but I have my doubts Sanders will be here next year.  We will replace him with someone, a draft pick or another free agent signing.

But did they significantly outpace the guys in the 3rd round or later? The only one in recent memory to do that is Henry.

Furthermore, not a single one of those guys has sniffed a championship. That's really more the point. The track record of top RB's or top PAID RB's getting to championships is quite bad. There is a reason for that.

No more free agent RBs ever, please. Don't trade for the. Don't look in FA. If you want one, draft one. After the third round preferably.

Id say healthy cmc and barkely outpace 3rd round picks yes and by quite a lot

I don’t know that argument isn’t really RB specific imo. Everything you said above while true, is applicable to every single position besides QB. You could replace WR, LT, DE or whatever and what you said holds true.

It depends upon what stats you're looking at, and what supports your narrative. 

Teams with RBs drafted in the first round are not only represented in the playoffs, but the Super Bowl over the last decade. 

If you're going to say, "Well they didn't win," I will ask you, "Why didn't they win?" Hell, we didn't lose the Super Bowl due to J-Stew. The 49ers didn't lose the Super Bowl due to CMC (hell, they almost won because of him). Did the Ravens really lose the game yesterday because of King Henry? 

Stats can make something look black and white that's not. There are a multitude of reasons why teams don't win championships (not that the inability to win rings is  necessarily a sign of a failed season).

It's almost a certainty that you'd rather have one than not. Of course it's always better to find a first round talent on day 3 (but that can be said for any position).  

It's not necessarily a good strategy to go into the draft saying you're going to draft this position or that position on this day or that day, you should always let the draft come to you. It's about value and knowing when to strike.

I don't think so but I could put together a model looking into that. We would have to agree on the parameters.

      I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.

      I think a lot of us are feeling this way, enough is enough. There is absolutely no reason to subject the fans of your team to another full season of Bryce fuging Young. I already don't watch like I used to,I miss games and don't even care. Before I was always at the games or in my recliner when the game started now what's the point. Bryce won't have more than 50 yards passing by halftime anyway.   It's crazy how we watch these other teams dump a trash QB quickly yet here we are in year 3 still hoping he will get better,news flash,he won't. I'm not down for year 4,wake me up if we ever decide to replace the mistake.  fug it I can spend more time with my family or making money,fug Tepper.
