I think you need to prepare yourself for when he doesn't get selected to Carolina.

Oh I've long been prepared for it as I know the odds of any team drafting one specific player is very low.

And a small part of me wants him to be drafted before us anyways, just as that would be easier to swallow than us possibly passing on him.

But both of those things aside, prepare yourself to be wrong on him, as that one I'm certain you will be.

Honestly if he goes somewhere else and balls out I won't care

I don't envision a scenario where we take Tet at #8 and we improve the team as a whole.  We need to maneuver our draft to build the D-line and LB room.

Pull off some Free agency magic and then I'd consider Tet at #8.

I see more value trading back to the teens and picking up an additional 2nd.

I could see it very easily happening. Defensive line is a strength of this draft class with I think I saw 24 or so draftable prospects which points to a lot of depth at our biggest need. If you can get an elite player who ranks ahead of the defenders available or have equal grades why not get the guy at the weaker position in the draft and get some of the guys not to far off in the next round jack Sawyer those type prospects on day 2.

I thought it wasn't all about the stats?

It's definitely not all about stats.. there is always some projecting and you draft for traits.. walker is a unique situation tho because he's a tweener.. he's a inside outside linebacker where he wasn't a full time pass rusher or a full time inside linebacker. When taking a guy like that I would like to see some evidence of what I'm getting.. are you a like kuchely type player or are you Parsons?

I just need to see his athletic testing to get more comfortable with him. He runs some freakish 4.3 or 4.4 and I will become his biggest fan.

Good points--and if he can play both, great.  I am liking a few edges who are at 280 and can move inside to a 5T for the same reason...but you need to make sure the scheme does not take a player away from his primary skill set--your point.  I think walker is an Edge right now.

His highlight reel shows he is a do it all type player.  Just a talented guy that can play all over ie Parsons.  I think he is an immediate 3 down player that is still young and will only get better.  He is making some insane plays agains the best players in the country.   If a team passes on him because they dont know how to use them then they are morons because this kid has it all.

You see him shredding centers, left and right tackles and playing in space and making big time plays in the process.  Carter may be leaps and bounds better as a pass rusher but not in the overall game imo

  • 4 weeks later...

I think our pursuit of DK in the trade signals more urgency for finding a #1 WR instead of by committee.  I'm thinking the likelihood of drafting McMillan just increased significantly.

That and us being quoted as going hard for defense  in free agency. I'd also add I think Warren makes as much sense as Tet. Warren gives you a receiver, blocker and he even runs out the backfield at 6'6 265.... a weapon I would love if we do address defense heavy  in free agency.

Nothing wrong with being a man of your convictions ha. I don’t watch college football but a couple of your posts made me check out about 10 mins of highlights and read an interview, 4.5 40 at /quick for his size with the route running and hands/catch radius…he’s a badass IMO. if rumors are correct and we’re going big FA on the D then go ahead and get Bryce a dude.

Cheers let’s go baby!

He's a slower, skinnier Kelvin Benjamin 2.0. Can't separate in college and sure as hell won't in the nfl. But go ahead a draft him as your #1 wr and see how that works out.

The two of them couldn’t be any more different of players, literally the only thing about them that is remotely similar is that they are tall, that’s it

    • Poverty franchise behavior.  If you don't like him as a 3rd rounder then why'd you draft him there?  As others have said, they likely found out some new information and have buyer's remorse. Our FO didn't give DJ Johnson a hard time for being a bad pick.
    • Best I heard its a clause the bungals want to add. It prevents them form paying the full guaranteed amount if triggered. No one knows the details of the clause, but guesses are it relates to off-field stuff. Stewart is in the right here. Before they signed burrow, chase, and Higgins they were the cheapest team in the league bar none. Unlike tepper or jarrah Jones or any other NFL ownership, all Mike brown owns is the beagals. Every other owner has many other money making businesses, not bungals.  I still remember when Brenston Bunker was starting on WFNZ and he told the story about the beagals telling him to pick a used cup form a huge pile, LOLS! They been on hard knocks and I remember Marvin lewis telling the players not to take home Gatorade bottles........* but in that case, I believe some players were taking a back pack and filling it up with drinks. Still you make millions(around 200million) in net profit and Im sure coke gave the team those bottles, still... Its a 32 team billion business, someone has to the cheapest.....Panthers were around the next cheapest team before tepper bought them and he has POURED millions upon millions into the team. He bought a bubble that Richardson never would, so the team had to gather in a old building during the rain. He spent millions on coofus machines that he just gave away like the bubble. Tepper made that AC trailer a thing. I've trashed him about his concerts and taking away end zone seats from fans. But the guy will spend money any way in efforts to better the team, dang I just remembered the deal he gave Rhule- more than Andy Reid at the time.  I know results have not came, but Id 100% take Tepper over Mike brown as a owner.
    • There's no way they're shipping you some uniform you haven't seen lol.  I feel like they'd just refund you and ask if you wanted the new one when it launched. Probably just making the blues the primary, or a new helmet for a new alternate/variation.
