I really hope T-Mac participates in drills at the Combine but in recent years top prospects not doing much has become the norm. If he goes out there and runs 4.5 flat with good agility numbers then all the speed concerns are basically over and he's probably a top 10 lock. The speed question is really about the only question in his game.

But we need to go all defense in the draft?  Just because we have swung and missed on WRs in the past doesn't mean we just give up on drafting WRs.  Agree we need to go defense heavy, but there needs to be a WR drafted and maybe even a TE.  Keep his targets the same as last year, Bryce could see a step backwards.

We have enough roster holes there shouldn't be any pressure felt to reach on any position. We're not fixing every problem overnight and even the best teams in the league have weaker areas on their rosters.

If things go well, this is still a multi-year rebuild.

Fans need to dissuade themselves of the notion of next season being some miraculous turnaround.

This is a long term project because of how devastating the roster deconstruction was.

The only way we have a miraculous turnaround is if we hit an absolute home run draft class, are wizards in free agency, and Bryce builds on a strong finish to the season and fully metamorphosizes into the QB we drafted him to be. Well, here's to hoping...

I think we need to go BPA in the 1st and ideally (for me at least) that ends up being some dude on defense that can stop a guy from running, throwing and/or catching the ball.  But if that isn’t the case, I can and will learn to live with it and won’t complain unless it’s a long snapper, RB and possibly a QB, punter or kicker.

Cause we desperately need a guy, any guy that is great at his position no matter which side of the ball he is on.

I'm just personally not a TMac believer yet

Well, you really never know how these things are going to go, but let me say this: unlike Devin Funchess, Tet McMillan is a receiver, and he's one with some real production unlike Kelvin Benjamin. Moreover, no one questions his heart, whether or not he wants to play the game, or whether he's a head case. People may forget, that there was something to be excited about after Benjamin's rookie year. There is something to be said for a "big" receiver with a wide wingspan. We've seen it throughout the years. Tet is said to be relatively fluid--movements not expected of a player his size, has an outstanding wingspan, and, most importantly (at least for me), has flypaper hands. For me, that's at least a reason to strongly consider drafting him after working him out to see if he's a fit for what you're trying to do.

One thing Dave Gettleman said that will stick with me forever is “don’t shop hungry”.  That is a sound philosophy.

I think shortly thereafter he exiled Josh Norman, panicked and drafted three corners, two of which were irrelevant and I forget their names but the philosophy is sound nonetheless.

DG was an actual football terrorist. No doubt in my mind we would have a Lombardi if not for him.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
