DK Metcalf Requesting Trade

He’s a good WR but he’s not a top flight number 1. And we already have Legette who is in the same mold. We need a shifty fast WR who can create separation fast

They are apparently asking for a first and third for a player a lot of seahawks fans don't even love.  I feel like he's hyped up more by people who haven't seen him play as much and see his measurable and highlights.

They're using the AJ Brown trade as the starting point it seems, but Brown was in the last year of his rookie deal. DK is in the last year of his already big salary. They need to back off that 1st and 3rd. If it's a late first, maybe.

If he's coming here, it's probably involving us flipping 8 for 18 and whatever middle round pick gets it done. $30 mil comes with sticker shock, but I think he'll get that or really close to it looking at other contracts out there now.

Edit - it won't happen, but would love to see the trade wait and happen on draft night. If Mason Graham is at 8, I don't want to trade out. If he's gone, I don't mind flipping 8 for 18.

He's a guy who doesn't go 100% every snap so that's something to think about. A difference maker when he's on but I don't think he deserves to be paid among the top 5 WRs because of his inconsistencies. I'm not sure how I feel about it but it would certainly help us more than hurt us.

Hoping for a friends discount here.. with that maybe a pick swap would work out here swap 1st and 2nd pick works out to a 2 nd pick in value we don’t lose any picks it’s a win win for us if they do make this happen it would be huge dk is second in the nfl winning on go routes

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
