Just trying to help. LOL

Thanks but I fully am aware of the difference. It is a bit embarrassing that I was paying so little attention but there are more egregious examples of poor grammar on this board than a few missed homophones for you to chase down.

They're doing their best to get there.

Did I pass Teach?

I hope we actually throw a pump fake this year and do something unexpected but for years now our first round picks have been highly telegraphed and the more head scratching the prospect we love is, generally the more accurate the rumors of smoke.

Sad, but true. Still, I hold out hope that we can be champs rather than chumps.

We've been left holding the bag since 2019 now. It's time to find someone else to talk into taking it.

you really think the teppers are going to draft someone they have never met?  Come on man

Some teams meet these kids off the radar, after events, or in unreported meetings and know they're awesome.  We don't really know who or how long some of them have been vetted.  And that goes back to the college season, after/before games.

Back when, I remember listening to an ex-GM on a pod about how he used T30 on guys that look solid on tape but want to make sure they're not a nutjob. after hearing rumors.  So they butter them up, take them out, see how they are with their guard down.

I never understand what the Teppers do, except I understand that it hasn't been working out so far. So, maybe a change is necessary.

Here's the deal. I'm saying that if Warren is there at 8, we will take him. Your side of the argument wins if ANYONE else is taken there and Warren is still available. It's a wash if Warren is already gone.

Simple. Let's see how it shakes out.

I guess there's no point of trying to put up smokescreens or mislead teams when you're about to draft someone they didn't have on their board until another 20+ picks go by. LOL

I think interviews are so critical for the early round picks because all of the 1st round talent has the athletic ability but lots of them can't handle the fame, money, and are not willing to approach/work like a professional.  This stuff isn't reflected in the draft boards and I trust Morgan for any defensive player.

I feel like, because it’s true, EVERY draft this team goes for the ‘versatile’ dudes, and have no idea why they never seem to hit. Every year.

If they would just draft NFL ready/almost ready, non-tweener guys from the powerhouse teams, they would take a gigantic step.

Just go BPA, but they can’t help themselves… every year they overestimate their talent and convince themselves that they’re only a few pieces away. They reach in the draft to fill the perceived need, only to realize that they’re paper thin depth wise because they’ve filled the team with years of tweener reach picks.

Just stop the madness. When it’s your turn, get the guy who is most likely to go all-pro, regardless of the position. All pro dudes raise the level of play of everyone else. Get that guy.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
