As of today, who would you draft at number 8?

Did you check the stats?  That’s why I like James Pearce Jr. better.  Pearce has been more productive than Walker from an Edge standpoint and he has better size. 7.5 sacks in 13 games and 10 sacks last year compared to Walker having roughly 10 sacks in 2 years.  Elite burst and power off the edge. In my opinion he will be better than Burns because he closes the deal when he gets to the quarterback.

Now if you are talking about intangibles? Hands down Walker is better. Everyone gloats about his leadership.

I don’t understand why Pearce gets such a bad rap unless I missed some of his off the field incidents.

He jumped pretty badly and didn’t bench. Not a lot of evidence that there’s elite power to his game. Also seems like an “it’s always something” off-field guy, but nothing anybody would put their name behind or make specific.

Walker didnt play full time edge last year and he was a backup the season before

Good point and good problem to have. Hopefully they make the right choice. I am not a fan of smaller edge players but as I mentioned in the initial post he’s a playmaker.  I would not be mad, by any means with Walker. Pearce is probably just one of my 1st picks.

I’ve been wondering about those anonymous reports.  His 40 and bull rush on tape looked good, although bull rush can be more so attributed to leg strength.   Give me the trade down to the early teens and this becomes a better convo for all of us. It would definitely generate excitement with the early 2nd rounder.

Yea, among with Ward, Carter, and hunter as the top three locks.

I have been seeing the next player on many NFL lists is Jalon Walker. I was there until he measure 6'0 and you need to be Luke for 8th overall. He's a ILB to me.

Every time I do the draft simulator the TE Warren is the BPA. Everyone you guys have been talking about for the past 3 months are all taken before our pick on there.

Try a different sim broski....

The top three are set- ward, hunter, and Carter.

Draft starts at 4, Ive heard vrabel is calling the shots for the pats. I don't think he has ever had the full juice, so nothing to go off. Guess- tough old school player. I feel it will be either DL or OL.

No one knows nothing about how the rest will fall or even the favorites. Players rated in the 40s on teams boards could be top 10 picks this year.

Warren was a 3rd rounder in December. Just about every top 10 must have elite traits/measures. It's the reason why Sanders is falling, warren doesn't have Pitts profile. Plus teams just don't value the TE, I feel they are totally wrong and one of the biggest values in the league. I don't believe warren is top ten pick, even tho he was allllll of Penns offense.

We’re probably going to end up with Mykel

I think its the main target no matter who is leftd.

Like if Carolina had the 4th overall pick, I think Mykel would still be pick

(Carter, ward, hunter already picked)

Jihaad Campbell. I think Dan Morgan would want a version of himself on the field, a center piece that can do it all, including going out on the edge and rush the passer. He'd solidify the middle for years to come. Also, according to PFF, he hit the same amount of sacks as Jalon Walker did in HALF the pass rush snaps. These kinda middle linebackers don't come around often, and with the depth of talent at the edge and dt, we can address those in the following rounds.

    • I believe Lloyd will elevate not just the whole unit, but also whoever his running mate is. Wallace is still very young, I think he's only 23 with two years of exp now. Cherelus can handle starting, he's just fighting with staying healthy. Kuwatch I think is going to be a contender after a couple week of understanding the system.  I mean Lee will be against..... what nearly 10 NFL-level WRs, he's going to get work and its up to him if he can hang.  I think its fair to expect 12th +/- 3 or 4 spots.  You know this, it boils down to how healthy everyone stays.....cause if dbrown, horn, Lloyd, Michael Jackson, or tervon miss extended time.....no way 10th can be reached. IF all the names above remain haethly, I do think 10th should be the goal. They are a young unit and added talent to a 16th ranked unit. Its time to march forward!!
    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
