Cam newton

Character Issues? He isn't the prime suspect of the investigation, that would be his father. Newton did not take money from anyone, his dad I am not so sure of. The only reason people like Luck more than Cam as far as NFL Ready is because Luck is a pocket quarterback as where Cam likes to scramble.

NEWS FLASH PANTHER FANS

I don't care if your Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Andrew Luck...If your a pocket QB you will not make it for the Panthers unless you can get a throw off from the pocket in 2 seconds. If the Panthers take Luck they are going to put him in a vunerable position especially with the weak tackle and guard class coming out. However if they take Newton, they are giving a mobile quarterback a chance to thrive on a sub par offensive line. However, Newton's ability to move in and out of the pocket gives him the advantage over Luck as a Panthers prospect.

Here lets do a comparison of key traits...

Arm Strength- Luck

Accuracy- Luck

Intangibles- Luck

Intelligence- Luck

Mobility-Newton (and luck is no slouch see 80 yd run)

Pro Style offence- Luck

If we don't draft Luck or don't have the chance to, we could trade down for more picks. It's entirely possible Newton could be available in the second round which hopefully we could get with the trade but man think about if we still had Armanti's Pick

Trade 1st pick overall to 10th team in the draft for their 1st rounder and second rounder

10th- DT/ AJ Green (could fall this far look at D. Bryant)

33- Cam Newton

43- O-line/DT

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

David Garrard

Mike Vick

Troy Smith

we could go down the line. All those guys are better than what we have at QB.

But this is about DRAFTING black QB's as you had to change your troll earlier as it's pretty obvious Carolina's not against starting a black QB.

Or are you saying you wish we had traded a bunch of our picks to get Michael Vick and then have him go to prison?

I'm pissed because more asians QB's are not drafted, Timmy Chang threw for over 17,000 yds at Hawaii.LOL!!

Truth is the NFL is looking for pure pocket passers and Cams arm strength doesn't compare to Vick's or even Tyrod Taylor's. Just take a look at that 70 yd td pass Cam threw against 'Bama, the WR had to stop, thus allowing the Safety time to come from the middle of the field, what should have been an int or a massive hit, resulted in a td.

Winning the Heisman means nothing in the NFL, It's usually the runnerups that thrive at the next level:

2000 Chris Weinke, Florida St., QB Josh Heupel, Oklahoma,QB Drew Brees, Purdue, QB

2001 Eric Crouch, Nebraska, QB Rex Grossman, Florida, QB Ken Dorsey, Miami, QB

2002 Carson Palmer, Southern Cal, QB Brad Banks, Iowa, QB Larry Johnson, Penn St., RB

2003 Jason White, Oklahoma, QB Larry Fitzgerald, Pittsburgh, WR Eli Manning, Mississippi, QB

2004 Matt Leinart, Southern Cal, QB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma, RB Jason White, Oklahoma, QB

2005 Reggie Bush, Southern Cal, RB Vince Young, Texas, QB Matt Leinart, Southern Cal, QB

2006 Troy Smith, Ohio St., QB Darren McFadden, Arkansas, RB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, QB

2007 The Golden Calf of Bristol, Florida, QB Darren McFadden, Arkansas, RB Colt Brennan, Hawaii, QB

2008 Sam Bradford, Oklahoma, QB Colt McCoy, Texas, QB The Golden Calf of Bristol, Florida, QB

2009 Mark Ingram, Alabama, RB Toby Gerhart, Stanford, RB Colt McCoy, Texas, QB

LOL Lucks arm is not even close to as strong as cams....I'd say even on Intangibles. Accuracy I think Cam leads the nation in. Intelligence I'd give the nod to luck. Mobility Of course Newtons.

Pro Style yes Luck

He will go 1st round, this I know

Not to the Panthers. JR likes character guys not 'characters'. He stole a computer at UF and cheated on test. What else did he do that he just did not get caught for doing?

He may go first rd to the Cowboys or Raiders. I could see that.

Accuracy I think Cam leads the nation in.

I think you're referring to QB rating, and Cam is 2nd to Kellen Moore in that one. Completion percentage which is a better measure of accuracy has Luck at 70.2 and Cam at 67.9. Luck has only thrown one more INT on the season than Cam despite throwing 131 more passes.

LOL

Andrew Luck 70% completion.

Newton 67% completion.

so tell me whats a higher number 67 or 70?

Luck is more accurate.

you also have to add the fact that luck dose not play in an offense Taylor made for him like newton, the DBs creep up every play to stop all the designed qb runs... making his throws alot easier to complete.

I'm also betting you haven't seen the 40yd pass luck launched while falling...

Really, it comes down to do you want a mobile quarterback who throws a good ball, or do you want a quarterback who can possibly escape some pressure, but not most, and throw a good ball. I'll take Cam, but Luck isn't necessarily a downgrade. Really, just a matter of preference in styles. I'd rather have Cam, but having Luck will make me happy as well.

    • Uggh forgot about that
    • I am curious to see if Warren is the elite player that the Huddle Warren stans believe. I am always fairly wary of these first round TE's.
    • The Rossi things isn't going away, either... https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/3312416/unfinished-business-7-players-to-watch-in-back-half-of-nhl-offseason The Wild and Rossi shouldn't be having any trouble hammering out an extension. Rossi, an RFA turning 24 in September, recorded the second-most points on the team last season (60 in 82 games). The smart, skilled, highly competitive 5-foot-9 Austrian is a homegrown top-six center. Minnesota has $10 million in cap space and no other significant spots to fill to finalize its 2025-26 roster. Problems lurk below the surface, however. Coach John Hynes demoted Rossi to the fourth line in the playoffs, dropping his nightly usage from 18 minutes in the regular season to 11 in the first-round series loss to Vegas. GM Bill Guerin's top to-do list item at the moment is to lock up Kirill Kaprizov. The superstar winger, who's been eligible for an extension since July 1, is due for Leon Draisaitl-type money (around $14 million average annual value) starting in 2026-27. Guerin has said there's no rush to sign, trade, or match an offer sheet for Rossi. If he stays, a short-term extension makes sense, since it gives both player and team flexibility. If he leaves, a trade is far more likely than an offer sheet. Half of the league could use a second-line center, and Rossi still has upside. The Hurricanes desperately need to upgrade at 2C (Jesperi Kotkaniemi isn't going to cut it) and have plenty of cap space. Ditto for the Sabres, who picked Jack Quinn one spot before Rossi went to the Wild in the 2020 draft. Mammoth bench boss Andre Tourigny coached Rossi in junior, and they don't have as much wiggle room, but trading top-six winger Nick Schmaltz (plus a pick) could make the math work. Guerin wants to make a so-called "hockey trade" here.
