Can we win.....Next Year?

Awesomeness!!

Lets say we keep most of our starters. Get guys like Thomas Davis and Jeff Oath back, and draft a QB that doesn't suck dick (Luck) and a decent coach. Now, you have to keep in mind that this is what Fox did in 02, and it worked. We went from one win in 01, to 7 in 02, to 11 and the Superbowl in 03.

Unlike many people, I happen to believe that this teams problems start at the QB. We have 3 good runners. We have Gettis and Lefell who I was down on earlier, but I'm coming around. Our defense which was put in terrible situations this year did still play relevantly well. We're not that bad of a team. Our QB problems have just killed us for the last few years. Draft Luck, get a new coach, and we CAN be a playoff team. Don't go crazy and blow it all up, because that poo next works. Look at Atlanta right after the Vick thing. Mike Smith comes in, they get Ryan, and now they are about to win a Super Bowl.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
