General Draft Rumors/Speculation Thread

I don't understand how people view Milroe and Dart better than him. Those guys have lower floors than Anthony Richardson.

Milroe has the tools but was all over the place play wise. Dart has the upside and hype going back to HS and USC, but nothing that really sets him apart.

And transferring to Ole Miss really masked where he is developmentally. Prospective NFL offensive talent should start avoiding that program. We’ve experienced that (Corral, Mingo, etc)

Lower floors than AR coming out, or lower floors than AR now?  Are you counting that he has proven to be a productive goal line back?  AR as a prospect had just about the lowest floor you can possibly have.  Probably the same as Milroe.  Dart's floor looks a lot closer to backup QB to me, but the issue is that his ceiling doesn't look too far from that either.

It's crazy that teams are drafting scratch off lottery tickets at QB with 1st round picks.

Kiffens system is a damn qb killer.  Teaches incredibly bad habits.  If a team thinks they can coach that out of him then Dart has the size, speed and a great arm to try.

I mean it got Corral drafted by the Panthers and ranked #1 in the class by Simms lol.  That dude had no shot at being a productive NFL QB.

There probably was a fine needle thread line where it could have worked to some level as the kid has talent.  But Rhule and fitt completely ruined him.  He wasnt mentally tough enough to overcome their fugery.  Trade up for the kid, tell everyone you had a first round grade on him, bury him on the depth chart behind Walker, get him killed behind a poo line and thats a wrap.  He never got a legit chance here

What?  Jeanty to the Jags is picking up steam?

In what world does that make sense when they have Etienne and Bigsby already?  If they were picking in the late teens and Jeanty was still there, then sure, maybe you look at it as a great value pick and you trade one or both of those other RBs.

But taking one at #5 when you have two quality RBs already just seems like a HORRIBLE decision

No one knows who the jags or jets are going to pick. Each have been link to about 10 different players and need each one of them.

Lower floors than AR as a prospect.

Now AR's floor is closer to JaMarcus Russell than it is Allen/Newton, IMO.

I don't think they ruined him. He wasn't an NFL player. He never was.

Won’t happen and isn’t worth considering.  They are posturing for a trade down obviously.

    • You literally did it right there and didn't even remember it. Sorry long Friday.
    • TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."
    • DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
