yeah, this draft is going to suck.  Morgan and his folks are going to overprioritize defense.  Reach for their dudes early.

I wouldn't be shocked if there first 5 rounds are 4 defensive players and a running back that doesn't actually make sense (hate their top 30 fixation there and who they looked at)  or some poo like that.

Going into this draft, it's almost like we forgot we got the 30th ranked passing game in the NFL.   And our featured player, contemplated retirement, wasn't healthy and is going to be worse.

So you're saying draft QB at #8?

I'm down.

I feel you on this but we have to put into perspective our offense especially our passing game after Bryce came back and probably more in the last 6–8 weeks when we were clicking as far as judgement on our offense. Compared to our defense was getting run all over week one and week 15 but I’d agree we need to add to the WR room in a major way with this probably being the end of AT and DM another dependable WR Bryce trust and goes to frequently.

A smokescreen in order to draft someone (Williams) nobody in the top 10 is going to touch. That's not really how smokescreens work.

I thought I read Williams said he had a lingering ankle issue from the season that slowed him during combine / workouts

I was surprised to read it as I had not heard that before

if that is factual, forget about it

…or, what they really think of Ickey or if Moton is wearing down…we just don’t know those inner discussions

from afar, each only have one year of conctract control. Yes there's the 5th year for icky and Motown can sign extension etc.

But right this draft day time, just one year for RT and one year for LT.

With allllllllll the holes and issues, honestly Ive overlooked the tackles.

I know this too, if Icky was performing at all-pro, the 5th year option would been done....

Something is up. Heres a simple fact in the NFL- Look you can not pay everyone. Panthers have given good OT money to each OG...... Sure keep OL a strength etc etc, but you can not pay all 5 starters top billings. Someone has to be on a rookie scale or bargain deal.

I've said it about JC Horn and the same applies to Icky, its hard paying either 100+ million for 4 years.

They have been looking at draft OTs in meetings.

Something could already be in the works and we are totally unaware. Hell, Icky *could be on the trade market. They are keeping lots of options open, right or wrong....

I definitely share your concern for this. But we also aren't going to compete much this season. One of the biggest issues has been the decision makers trying to fix everything in one season. If they step back from that maybe they won't fug everything up. I guess we can hope.

I don't think we draft an OT tonight but I honestly expect one tomorrow. There's just way too much smoke around OT being way more of a need than we think

Agreed. I think there is something to the rumor of Moton wanting to retire. We will see.

I think we want to trade back, pick up another 2nd or 3rd and walk out of days 1 and two with something like:

- Mykel Williams or Walter Nolen

- Aireontae Ersery

- Jaylin Noel

- Safety.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
