I rarely care about UDFA's because of the infinitesimally small hit rate. I do like the FSU kicker, however. I think this could be this years Coker.

I 100% agree about the kicker.

However, depending on who we still sign in FA, there is a legitimate chance for an UDFA at S, CB, or ILB to make the team.

I guess it's not inconceivable at WR either

Why scary? Teppers money lol

It suggests they value his skill set more than the other UDFAs, in my view, and I am not impressed with his skill set when compared to who he'd have to beat out.

Yeah, very few hits but it never feels like we get the top ones. Coker was and he did well. Outside of the kicker, seems like no one we got has any chance. Just looking at best available on a draft tracker and George is 93 out of 105 and no one else made the top 105 post draft. I know it’s not a be all end all but it still feels like we aren’t even trying hard.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
