Thought this was an interesting moment of candor.

See the 2:00 min mark.

TD said he made the decision that he wanted T-Mac as our 1st round pick back in January.

Dan chimed in and said he made the decision early as well (indicating the same time frame).

T-Mac is legit… amazing route runner and all hand catches.  Anyone who knows anything about football knows he has the tools to be legit.  He just need to stay focused.  Both T-Mac and Legette are a nightmare 1 on 1.  There’s zero chance any team will put 9 in the box and we are run first team with 3 starting quality backs.  Offense will be fun to watch.

So...... what you're saying is I got into 3 months worth of arguments and posting until my fingers hurt from typing out novels each day for nothing?

Oh well, T-Mac is still a Panther in the end, totally worth it, LOL.

I wrote a long dissertation on who they would pick, breaking down the draft by needs and player availability and concluded (at that time) that we would go WR in the first.  Being right is humbling and dignifying.  I predicted that the Panthers would draft Matthew Golden.

Well played haha

Does it at least make you feel better about us taking T-Mac instead of Golden like you wanted, now that there are all these reports of teams like the Rams and Cowboys badly wanting T-Mac and trying to move up for them, but the Cowboys then passed on Golden and the Rams didn't try to trade up for him either?

Im glad you were here, cause I didn't want to take on that task!! You did a better job than I would have, I dropped in when needed with some kill shots.

"He" meant Davis. That's when the clip was from.

It doesn't say Morgan made the decision in January. Morgan just says early.

Right, Dan didn’t say January with his words, but his face and body language did.

    • Sure, he's said that, but what it really means is that he's just going to insist on being a two way player and the Jags want him as such. But he won't be a starter who plays every snap on both sides in Week 1, if at all during his rookie year.  This is the NFL, no rookie, no matter how good they might be, is going to be able to go through their first mini and training camps while splitting time on both sides of the ball and be ready to be a week 1 starter and go full time both sides. And if a team does that, then they're dumb. I think their plan is to start him mainly on offense to give Lawrence another weapon, and I'm guessing it means he'll be a rotational CB early in the season, maybe he comes in when they go to nickel, even if he then plays the outside and someone else shifts inside.
    • Keep the peddle to the mettle the devils are gassed
    • YAC isn't the only way to be a threat. Thielen's ADOT was 11 yards last year. He's stressing a defense beyond its first level. Renfrow's 2023 ADOT was 5.6 yards. He's settling into a soft spot under a zone and the defense bets that they can rally and tackle before he gets to the marker. That kind of popgun slot receiver play is fine, but we should hope to be able to find that ability in someone who can also bring another skill, whether that's a vertical threat, or some jet sweep/screen game YAC  ability, or even just being very large and blocking well. Every time we trot Renfrow out there, we limit what the defense has to worry about.
