 Saw some clip of him talking to one of his ranchers and they sounded alike. He is that country.

One time this guy was talking to me and my wife in the checkout lane at the grocery store.  He had a similar accent and we couldn't understand a word he was saying.  The lady working the checkout knew him and was able to translate.  It's funny how you can be from the south but there's always more southern.

When my wife and I first got together I had to translate for my dad, he was that country. And she spent her whole life in NC. Big difference between Wilmington and Crocker's Nub, even though they're just 2 hours apart.

His accent is country but you guys make way too big a deal out of it, no problem understanding him. im from Raeford nc and have heard people more country than him.
