LOL Even the Mocks hate the Hornets

I guess to make it more clear, Bailey doesn’t want to play for Charlotte. He declined a pre draft visit and has a list of teams he wants to play for. Just not ideal for a young team that lacks winning culture right now. I’d prefer to trade with another team if it’s there and the compensation is right. Trying to force a young man to take millions of dollars to play for us seems like a bad idea.

He hasn’t worked out for anybody and only scheduled one work out, which he cancelled (76ers). I’ve heard he doesn’t want to play for certain teams, but I’ve never seen any proof that the Hornets are specifically one of them, just speculation and guesswork. Either way, the Hornets don’t get a pass for trading Kobe just because Kobe wanted to go to a bigger market, and if Ace Bailey turns out to be great they won’t get a pass for passing up on him either, so they should draft him either way.

You comparing this guy to Singler and Scheyer is all I need to know about your opinion. He is the best fit for our team right now, I don't think that can be argued. Should we pick him at #4? That can be argued, as I think we could trade back a few picks to get him. With that being said, I think we trade back in the 6-8 range and pick Kon.

Their defensive weaknesses in their draft profiles read like carbon copies, lack of athleticism to match with superior nba athletes, lateral agility, etc. Like I said, there’s no shortage of defensive liability mid athletes who can catch and shoot 3s. He’s projected high because he’s a tall guard who shot a high % and he defended well in college, but he doesn’t even have good length for his height and every single draft profile has questions about his ability to defend at the next level. If he stayed in school another year and dipped to even 38% from 3 he’d be a late first maybe second. He’s getting hype off small sample size where his weaknesses weren’t sufficiently exposed and an efficiency rate that is all but guaranteed to come down. Singler was a projected lotto pick after 1 year, too, he just stayed in school long enough for everybody to see how low his ceiling was.

His camp is claiming he doesn't want to play for the Hornets or Jazz.  Let's be real, if he is trying to avoid any team (which it looks like he is) we are most likely one of them...  Again if he comes here and is all in them I'm of course good with it.   We are just much to fragile to handle any drama at this point in our franchise.

It's all about the fit... And Kon fits with this team. Bailey has bust written all over him in my opinion. A lineup of Miller, Ball, Bailey, Bridges, and Williams? Thats what you want to roll with? Tell me who the shooter is that keeps defenders from collapsing on Ball and Miller as they drive to the lane? Kon is a perfect fit with the guys we have as projected starters. JMO...And you talk about a small sample size? How much do we have on Bailey? He played alongside Harper, put up good numbers but they couldn't win. We can't keep building a team of 6'7" guys who have no true position on the court. WE NEED SHOOTERS!!!

I hadn’t seen that they singled out the Hornets and Jazz…that sucks. Still they should draft him, I don’t think teams in general should bend to players trying to dictate who drafts them.

Sounds like Kobe Bryant.  John Elway.  Eli Manning.  I sense the Hornets will trade out of the #4 pick.  (I am not a huge fan--just thinking that is what I would do.

I've just heard he wants to play for the wizards which means he doesn't give a fug about winning and wants to jack up poo shots. Sounds like he'd fit in perfect with melo.  Id draft him then try to trade him and if we can't get anything good then so be it.

Should probably fire lee and hire Malone or Thibs while we are at it.

VJ should be the pick.  And I just watched videos today and have not kept up, but I was very impressed with his motor and athleticism.  Those kinds of players make teammates better, imo.  I am enjoying reading your comments--I am so much an outsider on this one but I used to love them From Kelly Tripuka and Rambis to Grand Ma Ma and zo---then it is like we quit.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
