Ain’t no chance in hell C-Mac belongs on this list. And I’m indifferent to him faking injuries to get traded, I would’ve done the same thing in this sh*t organization.

I don't think he faked any injuries. He is juat injury prone due to overtraining and general makeup.

There is no conspiracy here.

I can't speak for others but yes I read it. The conclusions are based heavily around the use of the statistical metric DYAR created by football outsiders and used by ESPN for this article. It only includes players whose production began in 2000. But excluding HOF running backs who produced BIG in an iteration of the NFL that was not yet catered to making things much easier for offenses in order for them to prop up more recent candidates is rather absurd and seems like just playing favorites regardless of where one might fall on their opinion of the use of the metric in question.

My feeling is they had to make it relatable for generations that came after the gen -x’ers. Can’t have too many old heads on the list.

NOBODY wanted ANYTHING of AD or LT. Brees. If teams kept prime Brees from 3 or fewer TDs and less than 275 yards, in the dome, then Brees had a bad night and would make up for it the next game. Best field surgeon I’ve ever seen. Brady had the damn shining, but Brees was something else.

Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.

The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.

I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.

The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.

Yeah, I feel like that is even a stretch. I say this as a guy who argued vehemently against signing him to a big extension like we did.

CMC is a great player and good person. I just believe the modern NFL is clearly anti-RB spending. We see outliers like Barkely that people like to quote but that is not reflective of the entire NFL's opinion on RB's.

Oddly enough, the Panthers did the right thing trading CMC.  He was going to command a huge contract as a home grown, fan favorite and great player when healthy.

Also nabbed a wild trade price for a RB. People were upset but that was far more than he was worth.

Now, if you want to talk about how terribly we squandered those resources....that is unquestionably true.

Our day 2 track record over the past 3 decades has been abysmal. We've had a couple of hits, but there has been far more head scratching than a bad case of head lice.

Leaving Smitty off of there is a crime

I love Smitty, favorite Panther ever, but this is a tough position for the last 25 years.  I don't think he is too far off the list but it would be tough to pick him over any of these guys without bias involved.

I agree with y'all on CMC - love him but over LT(2)?  Not sure I can agree with that....LT was a beast

But honestly they focused way too much on Peak > Career.  Priest Holmes had more TD's than Henry in a 3-yr span but not yardage.  And Holmes ONLY had those 3 elite years - Henry has had 4 (5 if you count 2021 before the injury) and his 2nd best was at 30-yr old.  Can't get onboard with the RB list man.

Love smitty, but can you put him ahead of Moss, Harrison, Fitz, Jefferson, Megatron, TO , Andre Johnson, Deandre Hopkins, Evans, Tyreek and several others not immediately coming to mind?

Smitty only has 9 more career receiving TDs than Marquis Colston (yes, I know Brees). Colston never even made first team pro bowl. It’s painful to say, but he’s not even top 10 when considering his competition

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
