Yes, the OP mentions him - Eric Eager.

He was head of R&D for PFF

Yep. I've pointed it out numerous times. Our VP of Analytics basically had that same role for PFF.

To add on - One of our UDFA's that I think will make the 53: 

4. Luke Kandra, Cincinnati

Kandra's athleticism and measured approach to the game give him the floor of a solid zone scheme backup and an average starter's ceiling. The end result will depend on his ability to play with better pad level and flexibility.

Dotson seems more like a safety to me. I think he could be a solid Cover 2 corner or robber type because of his size, vision, and ball skills. He's just a bit slow. He kind of reminds me of Roman Harper. But Dotson would have to become a much better tackler to play safety full time.
