Those were Thunder and Lightning refers to the dynamic running back duo of DeAngelo Williams (Thunder) and Jonathan Stewart (Lightning) who played for the Carolina Panthers. This nickname highlighted their contrasting playing styles: the yester days of Thunder and Lightning!!

Lets hope they are as good!!!!

Chuba had just shy of 1200 rushing yards and we were still 30th in passing yards per game. The opposing defense has to fear your passer for this to come to fruition.

Yeah, we flat out need more out of Bryce and the receivers, period. The "new and improved" Bryce post-benching needs to be his new floor not the ceiling. Chuba did his part last year. Granted we had no depth behind him to help carry the load. That didn't help.

Well two things wrong here

First, they weren't Thunder and Lightning, they were Double Trouble.

And second, if they were Thunder and Lightning, Stew would absolutely have been the Thunder as he was a much more physical runner than Deangelo was.

Chuba also missed two games. The single season rushing leader in franchise history is DeAngelo Williams with 1,515 yards. Stephen Davis is second with 1,444 yards. And if Chuba had played those other two games he could have made a push for Davis's record no doubt. For all the talk of lack of weapons that's a pretty damn productive season.

Yeah, "Thunder and Lightning" were the duo for the Titans. White and Johnson maybe?

Five touchdowns, 40 points and 35 points against teams fighting for a playoff bid is the floor? So you’re thinking Tom Brady levels of efficiency?

Reasonable…

No, White suggested they would be a tandem with a nickname like that and Johnson shut him down. Wasn't interested in sharing the spotlight in the backfield. I remember it because it was awkward af to watch play out.

Post benching, Bryce averaged 2104 yards with 15 TDs and 6 INTs. Over 10 games that means he averaged 210ypg. Extrapolate those numbers to 17 games and that 3577 yards with 26 TDs and 10 INTs. That would've put Bryce #22 in the NFL in passing yardage, 10th in TDs, 17th in INTs. Basically middle of the pack. Yeah, for a #1 overall pick and hopefully franchise QB that needs to be floor type play, especially given our investments in the OL and receiver corps. We've built it, it's time for him to deliver.

No. Bryce playing with confidence and actually getting it done as an NFL starting QB over an entire season is what we need. Teams are going to have more footage on him too post benching, so hopefully he responds well to the new things being thrown at him. It's just about new contract time after this season. Middle of the road performance is the thing we need least from him.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
