The Good:

- Bryce Young: Looked pretty good on the second drive. I think he will be fine so as long as the line holds up and the receivers live up to their potential.

- Coker: Definitely the star of the offense in the 1st half. I think he will be a favorite target for Bryce this season.

- Jimmy Horn Jr: I really hope we can find some playing time for him on the offense because he is so dynamic and shifty.

- Nic Scourton: I actually thought he was one of the bright spots on a bad night for the defense. His tracking abilities is uncanny I think he will be good.

- Thornton: I think he played himself in a spot. The dude is a baller and made some great stops tonight.

The Bad:

- TMAC: Bear in mind that it's the first pre-season game but good lawd at the drops tonight. I hope he can get rid of the jitters before the season begins.

- The run game: What is suppose to be our bread and butter of the offense was non-existent tonight. Again, hard to judge off of one pre-season game but still.

- Defense in general: I thought our first string played decent but lots of mis tackles and opportunities lost getting the Browns off the field. 2nd string definitely needs work.

- Andy Dalton: Need I say more? Lol

All in all, I am reserving judgement until I see more out of them. I think a lot the lack of motivation and no energy was due to the fact that a lot of that juice and energy was during joint practices. There was some good moments and I cannot wait to see how different it will be with Jaycee Horn and Derek Brown back on the field.

Did he have a drop? The only thing I remember was the TD miss which was more of a timing thing, that’ll get cleaned up quick.

Other than that one, I don't remember any.

The one in the Endzone probably was a drop by it's definition, but in reality, that was just a rookie in his first game not quite yet on the exact same page as his QB on a timing route.  Bryce had an absolute perfectly timed pass, he threw it before T-Mac even made his shake move at the top of the route, let alone before he was even starting to turn.

That ball was on him the second he turned his head, and sure, it's one you still hope he catches, but in his first ever game and still getting that timing down with his QB, I don't really view it as a "drop" as much as just not a completed pass.

The other was one that again, would have been nice to see him catch it, but he was hit by multiple defenders basically simultaneously as the ball getting to him, would have been a tough catch for anyone.

I was actually impressed with what T-Mac did AFTER the dropped TD pass.

I don't think I've ever seen a player go and get the ball from behind the end zone after a dropped pass like that.  It was like he was upset at himself for not catching it and wanted to get the football in his hands before the next play.

He was holding himself accountable before any teammate or coach could say anything, LOVED seeing it.

I'm so confused are we talking about Mitchell Evans on the Panthers or Mike Evans? Why does this post have 3 pies when its talking about a completely different player?

I assumed he actually meant James Mitchell in the original post

If you are talking about the sack on Bryce, as best I can remember, he was tripped up when he took off.  Wasn't really much of a sack. If memory serves, he had some time, no one was open and he took off.  And Hubbard had decent room in 2 out of 3 runs.

Everything past that point though was forgettable.

That sack wasn’t on the OL IMO

Browns just played it well.  Might could argure he should have anticipated XL crossing toward the sideline but I don’t know.  Just seemed like good defense by the Browns and not much there when the ball should have come out.   BY stepped up and tried to squirm through and couldn’t.   Just a nice rep by the Browns.

Yea, that sack was either on Bryce for not getting rid of it or just a well played by the Browns DE, whichever way you want to view it, but it certainly wasn't on the OL.

Someone got beat in the middle of the line on a strong bull rush, but Bryce stepped up into the pocket well to avoid it.

The DE that was rushing against Ickey ended up getting the sack, but there really isn't anything an OT can do when they pass block perfectly, keep their man at bay, and then the defender turns to run back towards the LOS to chase the QB because they took off running.  Literally the only way for the OT to stop that is to grab and hold the DE, so in no way would that be a sack on Ickey.

I am not buying how McMillan's game was bad.  Hell, the drop (not drops) wasn't even that egregious, it was a lack of timing between Tet and Bryce. It's a teaching moment during preseason. Viewed from another perspective, McMillan has 43 yards on five targets (and nearly a few more and a TD). It's not the perfect performance, but it's hardly bad in my opinion.

Haha that play should get us excited, the move he made and the timing with Bryce was actually great. He’s just never played with someone who throws with that much anticipation

You tried to dunk on me, but all you did was prove you're illiterate and you don't know your own team.

Mitch Evans is a rookie tight end for the Panthers. I was referring to Mitch Evans. He read "Mike Evans" and went off on a tangent.

Anyone not excited about TMac after tonight is just a hater who didn’t want him drafted in the first place

Yeah I was in mid season form yelling at the tv excited when he caught that 20 yard sideline bomb. That was an nfl throw and catch from those two and something we haven’t had in a while.

The TD he missed Bryce threw that ball with so much anticipation it just got past him right as he turned his head towards the QB to anticipate a catch. It was also obvious on replays too he knew that it was his fault and was a timing thing.  He looks the part out there and exactly what I saw on YouTube, Big and smooth.

I love how he can be a deep threat through size and speed and then if corners play off him he can run big in breakers and isn’t scared of the middle of the field. He caught a nice one from Bryce and then Dalton threw him a hospital ball too which annoyed me. Curious to see how he’ll do vs press corner.

Umm, best I can say is that we've still got a lot of work to do.

We've got the pieces, but this puzzle is far from put together.

Our 1s were struggling against the Browns' 2s. (And there are a lot of ways to read that sentence.)

In addition, I thought our starting ILBs looked really good, and so did Bobby Brown. Wallace has a couple of standout plays.

Scourton has been mentioned, and he looked really good, we definitely got something there. There was a couple of plays where he set the edge in the run game that forced the run inside. Really fun to watch.

Mitch Evans was in college last year.
