So you think 32 teams colluded just to hose Shedeur Sanders on the draft? For a self proclaimed intelligent person you consistently make the lowest IQ arguments. LOL

First of all, you can think what you want. I've been told that I am intelligent by much better than the likes of you. Intelligent people don't really have to proclaim it. People generally just know that a person is intelligent based upon their quality of thought.  In my experience, people of lower IQ and/or those who have other personal issues respond with insults because they are intimidated simply because they know they're not as intelligent. I have never self-proclaimed to be intelligent that I recall, and if I did, it's only in response to your repeated assholery. You got issues, bud.

Secondly, 32 teams didn't need a QB or perceived that they needed a QB. Of the ones that did, some logically thought that  there were better options, and I certainly can't say the ones that did colluded. I will say that NFL execs and coaches aren't beyond being affected by narratives based upon things other than a person's ability, are even affected by media-driven b.s., and they certainly are subject to the politics of it all, as was the case with Collin Kaepernick for example.

A lot of people seem to have a significant emotional attachment to Shedeur.

Why is that? I don’t pay attention to college so I’ve never seen him play.

i don’t get the cult following. Please explain.

He is just a classic The Golden Calf of Bristol/Manziel type. Tons of attention and media hype which attracted insane fanbois and even more insane haters.

It's all very stupid.

People on here just trying to hold on to their off-season hopium for as long as possible.

I'm not going to take that away from them. I will say, I wanted to see something different from what went down. I am ready to see the Panthers play competetive meaningful football again.

I just hope I am not tracking draft position by week 6 again.

The forum largely turning into draft talk by Halloween is an annual Panthers tradition at this point.

that is a distinct possibility, maybe even earlier

I truly believe Dan (in just two seasons) has turned the talent around on this franchise in terms of starters. The problem is we have zero depth due to mismanagement previously. It's going to take time to build a stable winning franchise, tepper has to see the excellent job Dan is doing

Jury is still out on Canales IMO

If Bryce balls out then that mitigates a lot of problems elsewhere on the roster as well

To be abundantly clear this is the same place where many people ridiculed others last preseason saying it didn’t matter and then we got the doors blown off in the first two weeks of the regular season.

Same thing was said when the Jets (another bad team like the Browns) embarrassed Reich’s opening preseason game.

if we arent 2-2 or better going into week 5 then the poo is about to get real

I will say I think that would depend on what that looks like. It's a very young team, so I am not sure I would be prepping for next season until later in the year than after Game 4.

I also am expecting 4-7 wins overall, so I care very little about a playoff hunt until it materializes as a realistic possibility.

I am going to attempt to be patient with the results for the most part. My patience is wearing thin with a few players and definitely our DC. FO is on a short lease, as well. Love Dan but it's been a mixed bag during his tenure. Not as big of an improvement over Fitterer as I would really like to see.

    • I mean, yes, there is a difference between looking at a box score and watching film.  But PFF has a big subjective aspect to some of their grades.  That's how you get a 2/4 being better than 3/5 with a TD.  You aren't using stats at that point or factual events, but subjective analysis of plays.   And it's not like it is the same subjective analysis applying across all the players.   Same guy grading BY's incompletions (which are putting him over the top) isn't grading everyone else's incompletions and completions.  So it's different subjective takes/viewpoints applied.  There is no way everyone at PFF views grading out a play the same.  Then it all dumps into the same spreadsheet.  Hit the sort button.  Sometimes I feel it gets really weird and and collective data starts saying some weird stuff that just isn't true.
    • Yeah, Sanders had a very nice debut preseason performance but the folks acting like he's arrived based on that performance are getting way out ahead of themselves.
    • I won't be surprised if Graham disappoints. Maybe not outright bust but never lives up to his draft status. The more I watched him at Michigan the more I came away impressed by the other Michigan DT. I think he might be the real player. Usually when you have two high level prospects in the same college unit one of them ends up getting fraud checked in the NFL as being largely carried by the other guy. Peppers and Ryan Sims at UNC comes to mind. Lavar Arrington and Courtney Brown at Penn State, etc.
