I agree (it was frustration/sarcasm). However, I think the Browns might cut an upgrade over Plummer....but your second point is one I agree with too.

I generally don't think so. The Browns roster is basically multiple #3 QB's.

TBH, I’m in the minority, but I don’t think he should’ve been given this season.  This QB class of 2025 was not great, but Sanders would’ve been an ideal developmental QB to push Bryce, and in the case that he flops again (which I expect), he could’ve stepped in and probably done really well as a rookie.

I wanted the team to pick him once the fell as he did. Just wrote about it in another thread. We had pick 140, 5th, he went 144.

I thought giving BY this season was the right call.. not sure its logical. because after looking at the stats (right after the draft). Hm. Did it "match" with what we felt during the end of last year. Not really.

So you might be correct with BY not deserving another year.

Guess we will find out.

We are running 4 of the starting 5 on the OL.  Which makes it basically a run of the mill normal NFL Sunday because rarely are you running your ideal group all season.

BY’s offenses actually have a huge sample size.   And this one is checking all the boxes for a 3peat start

Im specifically referring to the offe side line nothing about BY.

I think his oline drama is very knee jerk.... especially in the pre season with scripted calls and nothing situational.

Also, to be abundantly clear, Jack Plummer has NEVER been a rosterable NFL QB. That was Huddle/Kyle Allen BS to the nth degree.

It says a lot about our QB situation that people pine for guys like Allen, Walker, etc. Much less proven bums like Darnold.

Poverty franchise thought.

I agree, I'm just saying I wouldn't be shocked if that was basically the reason.

They 100% don’t want a QB competition. They are giving him every opportunity to succeed, and rightly so.

Even if he busts, at least future QB prospects will know they will be given a real chance here.

Would still be nice to have a preseason guy that can run the offense with scrubs.  Plummer is not good enough to be that guy.

I mean, given how we've utterly failed at building a competent football organization and how terrible Mayfield looked here before rebounding in Tampa... yeah, not sure if I'd call that a "real chance".

If Bryce bombs again this season I almost hope he goes somewhere else and proves to be legit. Like damn, yeah it's really time to just move on. Tepper killed it.

    • Every NFC team that we needed to lose today won
    • That's a good point.
    • I actually had some extra money and decided to do something I've never done before...I put 100$ on the panthers.  If I lose, eh whatever, but the absolute complete disrespect is just kinda surprising.  Things to consider. Panthers have won their last 3 road games After an abysmal start on the road, the panthers have won the last 3, granted game 1 was against the Jets, but the other 2 were solid road victories, one being the Packers and one being the Falcons and while some may dismiss Atlanta due to the record, that was their legit final gasp at life and a loss essentially killed their season and putting a team away in a make or break game is always difficult. The 9ers havent been great at home The 9ers are 7-4 on the season but even with that record they are 5-2 on the road and only 2-2 at home and even that is kind of missing the home road split more.  They beat a rough atlanta team at home 20-10 and a 1 point win against a pretty bad cardinal team (yes I know we lost to them). Stopping making 49ers 1 Dimensional I think we're all aware of the weaknessess the panthers have how we are potentially to be exposed by Kittle and CMC.  those are VERY viable critiques.  However, thats in the passing game, but the 9ers are 6th worst at running the ball, they arent a great team between the tackles, and as such our front should be able to stop that middle of the field and make everything go outside which is where having Moerig in a Buffalo Nickel will help.   Before people poo on me, Im not all sunshine pumping, I VERY WELL could see us lose this game, and maybe even get embarrassed, HOWEVER there is a lot to like about our potential.  For playoffs this game has a ton of meaning and You have to know the team knows that, a loss hear loses a tie breaker with a team potentially for the last spot.  They will be focused and I didnt even mention the homecoming of sorts for Bryce and Tmac who are gonna wanna show out back in Cali. Summation, panthers win 30-24
