Just to be clear. Last year around this time I made it a point to dip out for a few months and in that time threads still got derailed left and right

It's definitely not just you by any means. I don't even think you're a main "culprit." Just slowly trying to get a grip on things. I'll be trying to be more pro-active going into the season about threads not derailing (at least into interpersonal stuff) but we'll see how that goes

It's always nice to literally see another perspective, as it can provide insight.

Honestly, I'm not going to make any definitive statements at least until the regular season starts. During this time of year, we feel a little freer to make all kinds of judgments, however outlandish, based on emotion more than anything else. Historically, we won't know what we really have until late September to the middle of October. There's really little reason to get too low or too high. There will be real football soon, then some of the doom and gloom and/or optimism may mean something.

I mean the penalty and the flag both happened RIGHT in front of him, he saw both seeing as it was his outlet getting dragged/held.

I get what you're saying and the comment really isn't about Bryce as much as it is about the inconsistencies among referees with regard to penalties. I get the logic behind it, and 90% of the time its probably the right thing to do. But on game day, relying on Hoculee to make the correct call would scare the crap out of me. Maybe Bryce is old enough to get that call.

I had to watch the Houston broadcast and they were slurping Stingley hard after that "PBU". I thought I was taking crazy pills, because I saw the same thing you did.

Maaaan.... when I went to get those caps from the broadcast it had the Texans announcers and the way they were talking up Stingley like he had impacted the play was wild.

You won't get much sense from some of the extremist optimists here. They'll spam poo reactions and flail and then slink away when we start losing.

Speaking for myself, wheb the huddle gets insufferable... I just dont care to waste my time here.  I have better things to do with my time then to get wrapped up with hating on my team.

First, I want to thank Iceage for his time, effort, and perspective.  Much appreciated.

Perspective is always important.   It's imperative to seek outside perspective in most things.  No.matter how much we think we know, we can always learn more.  No matter our perspective,  there are things that we miss that other perspectives pick up.

I am still excited about this season.  Still not sure how much our defense improves.

tbh, I miss when some of the more knowledgeable posters would create threads like this. I always learned something about the team or the game itself that made me a better fan. Plus the discussions that would take place (don't get me wrong, arguments always happened but there would also be rational conversations) could open up to new information that wasn't noticed before (like what happened in here after all of the back-and-forth died down).

I know I won't be able to provide as much insight as those with better football knowledge than me could, but if it helps anybody else learn more the way that the Huddle used to help me then weeeeeeeeee.

Before I even clicked on the thread i already knew what this was...another film breakdown of "why it wasn't bryces fault".

I'd love for you to do a film break down and do an alternative analysis. If you disagree with Icege's assessment, I think it would be good to have another view. I'd read your thread if you did that. I'd love for you to show us what you saw.
