Preseason Week 3 - vs. Pittsburgh (practice tweets, discussion, etc)

I think a lot of the poor game performance was mostly in part to DC and EE not calling plays.  There are no public cameras at the joint practices.  Those results, at this juncture, are more telling that poorly called vanilla playbooks.

If we break 3-2 or better in our first 5 games, we set ourselves up nicely for significant improvement.  We could be 7-7 heading into week 16.  Games against the (H/A) Bucs and (H) Seahawks could make or break us.  If that doesn't make for good TV I don't know what does.  Two of 3 at the Bank.

We have found a QB worse than Plummer.  Perkins is a Joey bag of dicks out there.

You’re joking right? Guy has been here about 7 days and he was expected to play the most difficult position on the field from a mental standpoint. He actually outplayed Plummer. Better completion % QBR, no turnovers.

To those that attended, I hope it was fun.  But damn this has been some bad football all around lol.

It actually was pretty fun. Last game I went to before tonight was a 27-0 loss, so actually seeing the Panthers score points for the first time since 2019 was cool. It was probably 65-35 Steelers fans but the vibes were good.

I think his only real shot was on special teams as a return. The wr room is too deep this season, maybe.

It legit pisses me off because it was impossible to evaluate guys like Horn when they throw them in there with shitty OLs allowing instapressures on a QB who has been here less than a week, who actually is 100 times better than the shitty QB they’ve had in the roster for 2 years who tried to put multiple receivers in the hospital tonight.

like this poo has me super pissed.  The team looked a lot better overall with Canales and severo calling plays tonight, but damn that was frustrating to watch.  They literally can throw all the tape out from when Plummer was on the field.  And then when Perkins came in, the OL was absolute poo.  I just don’t understand how any of that is useful for evaluating.

Princely Umanmielen said he’s getting an MRI on his shoulder Friday. But X-rays tonight were clean. Said it happened when he was blocking Darnell Washington‘s “big ass” after Lathan Ransom‘s interception.

Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now.

Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.

This. Plummer is hot garbage.

    • I wouldn't be opposed to trading for Sanders and seeing if he could be developed here. We have zero plans, and I really don't think it would take Sanders long to produce more than Bryce has. Plus, he's on a 5th round rookie contract and if he became the guy, you instantly have three years to build a core of talent, much of which we already have.  I get flamed for this opinion but it is what it is, and I've been right about these type of things the past three years.  I said Nix would be a good NFL QB. Wanted to keep Darnold and trade down in 2023. Said QB play wasn't the QB's fault under Rhule, but rather the offensive design.  Give me Sanders in the room for a year with Bryce and Dalton, see what he can develop in to on the cheap. There are no really quality QB's coming out this year that aren't Allar or Manning, and Manning may not even be coming out.
    • basically if the panthers trade Thielen they're not trying to win this year. I mean they're not going to regardless but this means its the plan not to.  no team is going into the season in 2025 with 80 career catches between their top 3 healthy WR.  you'd be turning this from a bottom 3rd of the league offense to like the nathan peterman bills pair that with a defense that is most likely going to struggle, and they're looking at 2001 again.
