The only one I agree with is Buffalo. The 3 easiest are Bills, Ravens, Texans.

I'm cool w/ the Texans and Ravens calls added to my list.  It basically all follows Vegas' outlook.

heck, I'm tempted to drop my 6 down to 5.

Canales already talking about how doesn't want to give Hubbard too much work early this year.  Dude, look at your schedule.   You should be all in on winning early.  Which is why you should of been running a heavy preseason.

Nothing about this roster screams 9 wins

Playing the Saints 2x, Jags, Cards, Pats, Jets, Dolphins, Cowboys sans Parsons, and having the other 2 teams in our division not be great is the only reason we have a slim chance of finishing with a winning record.

Don't get me wrong, I still fully expect us to go like 6-11, but the schedule is looking pretty fortuitous for us outside of games against GB, Buffalo, Rams, and maybe SF (if they are healthy).

Adam Rank (NFL Media): 9-8

Nate Davis (USA Today Sports): 8-9

Joe Person (The Athletic): 8-9

Alex Zietlow (The Charlotte Observer): 8-9

Mike Kaye (The Charlotte Observer): 7-10

NFL Nation (ESPN): 7-10

Vinnie Iyer (The Sporting News): 7-10

Greg Auman (FOX Sports): 7-10

Conor Orr (Sports Illustrated): 6-11

Ali Bhanpuri (NFL Media): 6-11

Matt Johnston (Sportsnaut): 6-11

John Breech (CBS Sports): 5-12

Moe Moton (Bleacher Report): 4-13

I never thought I'd see the day when Adam Rank would be high on the Panthers.

Seeing the team be absolutely incompetent in the pre season makes me think 6 wins is out of reach. Hope Im wrong but damn that was ugly.

I mean, it would take injuries to knock Tampa down to being on par with us.

I don't know - Tampa was pretty fortunate last year in some of the wins they got when they were outplayed by a good amount. Wirfs and Godwin are already nursing injuries that will keep them out a few weeks and if the Bucs lose them longer, that will hurt them pretty bad. I don't trust their defense also - you can definitely throw on them all day long.

They are definitely better, but all it takes is 1 or 2 key injuries to change things quickly - losing someone like Wirfs (when they don't really have oline depth) can bring them much closer to our level pretty quickly.

I think our defense will be a lot better this year and closer to the likes of 20-25th overall than far and away last place like we were last year. In that range, we won't be far from Tampa's defense (and possibly better).

Exactly. The NFC South is the most unpredictable division in football right now. I think people are overestimating the Falcons and underestimating the Saints (they can run the ball and play defense), but it really could be any of the 4 that win the division. Will be interesting to see it play out.

Not sure I would say the Saints can play defense. If our defense didn't exist last year, they would have been the worst run defense in the NFL. They made no improvements to their front 7 in stopping the run in the offseason, so I see that being a struggle again. They also have an oline that cannot pass block for crap - combo that with Rattler/Shough at QB, and that sounds like the 2023 Panthers dilemma we had to endure.

5 or 6 wins seems likely. 9 would require opponents gifting wins and even then it's hard to imagine. Having the easy part of the schedule early mixed with notoriously slow starts and adjustments makes it hard to see 7+ wins even with gift games included. Teams have played down to them and still pulled out wins the last few years.

You really think Canales tipped the game plan with that statement?  He's getting 20+ touches Sunday.
