Bryce Young Is Terrible

Plenty of QBs have had draft capital spent on them and still been bad. Remember Joey Harrington? The Lions drafted 3 WRs back-to-back-to-back in the 1st round trying to make that pick work.

I'm not arguing that Bryce hasn't been bad, but to say he's the worst EVER? That covers a LOT of ground.

I cant think of a worse QB that was given so many opportunities. He's looked atrocious for what 30+ games at this point. Who has looked worse that was given that many starts?

I don’t think “worst ever” is hyperbole.  Again, there are statistics that he literally has been the worst in league history in for the number of starts he has had.  He may have moved up slightly on those, but again, throw in the value that was given up for him, and I think it’s a pretty easy conclusion to make.

Agreed. And I think there would be a lot more talk about it if this franchise were relevant in any way.

In terms of a multi-year starter... honestly, he's in the conversation. Have their been worse one off starters or guys who have started a few games? Sure. But in terms of a guy who has gone into multiple seasons as the planned franchise QB? I mean... oof. Bryce is up there.

I don't think the right answer was CJ over Bryce. I think the right answer was be patient and look for your qb in '24 when you had Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix Jr., J.J. McCarthy and Bo Nix all available.

This.

No doubt, the the Bears straight up American History X shower scene’d us.🤣🤣🤣. They had to be pinching themselves when we called, “Are they fuging serious?  Is this real?  Hell yeah, we’ll wait another year.”

"be patient and look for your qb in '24" Hmmm...I was public enemy #1 for saying this.  Several of you even gave me the nickname 'Mr. wait-until-next-year.' Heck even QB6 in that draft class looks worlds better than Young.

Now do Brooks and the 2025 running back class   🤣

    • He threw with him the last two offseasons so he knew what he was signing up for lol
    • The meat and potatoes: Out of 30 qualifying QBs in Week 1, Young ranked: Dead last in EPA (-0.60) Dead last in success rate (20%) Dead last in Y/A at 3.6 Dead last in passer rating at 27.5 How are you averaging just 3.6 Y/A on unpressured dropbacks in the first half of a game? Thinking back to that halftime deficit, I’m reminded of this stat: The Panthers led at halftime in three of Young’s 12 starts last year. They are now 0 for 1 this year. In his 29 career starts, the Panthers have led at halftime in 5 of 29 (17%). Since 2000, there have been 37 QBs to start at least 25 games in their first two years in the NFL. Young is the ONLY QB to lead at halftime in fewer than six of his starts. Young is the ONLY QB to lead at halftime in fewer than 20% of his starts. So many people were backing Young based on the super small sample at the end of the year when they thought he played better, and he did play moderately better. But even in those games, he delivered average stats against the NFL’s easiest schedule of pass defenses to close the year, with every opponent ranking 20th or worse. There’s never been a QB who rebounded from performance like Young delivered in his first couple of years to go on to become a franchise quarterback. Some stay around as a journeyman, but they don’t lead teams. The Panthers put all their eggs in the Young basket this offseason. The Panthers were the darlings to win the NFC South by many. Yes, it’s only one game, and there certainly are opportunities to improve.   The opportunity is to start someone else at QB.   I don’t want to see anymore debate in whether Bryce is the worst QB ever.  Especially not the worst #1 overall pick ever.  What a fuging bust.
