Trgovac.- didn’t realize she was still around though.

She's here and a full time scout for the Panthers. I think her region is mid-west(??), the weakest one, but still....... everyone's is talking about BY, tepper, Dan, etc..... the scouts are the main problem, or very high on the list. Her being the daughter of a former DC is not enough to judge college talent......maybe for a 5 win team....

The list is long indeed. So much for wr depth huh? The defense is still putrid. The coaches were getting out-coached all day. The entire team seemed lethargic and out of sync. And that's only part of it.

Yes the main issue is the amount of problems and issues. Owner, coaches.........I feel this one needs more attention, cause a good/great staff wins that game cause they would be prepared, unlike the pre-season looking Panthers......the players, the depth, basically every dam thing expect Sir Purr........wait one second thats a black cat right?!?!?!?!

No, you’re just mistaken

They were showing Hunter highlights on offense and then went to the one of him on defense playing a charmin soft zone on T-Mac.

The guys in the studio didn’t realize they were them showing a defensive clip of Hunter and were laughing about the soft coverage “we” were playing on him, and then they realized it and corrected themselves.

They were joking and saying something like “what would you call that coverage?  Would that even be considered a soft zone?”

And then something else I don’t remember.  Then they realized it was a clip of him on defense and not our coverage on him.

Ah, I gotcha.

We lost our depth 48 hours apart when we traded our #3 and put the #2 on IR

Did Princely or Scourton even play in this game?

I'll be honest, with how bad we looked and paying more attention to my Fantasy matchup thanks to the delay (and how bad we looked), I wasn't paying the most attention when we were on defense.

But I did see Princely out there a decent amount, but I don't remember seeing Scourton out there even one time.

Was wondering if I just didn't see him given my minimal attention when on defense, or if maybe he didn't play with him still coming back from the injury and getting into game shape.

Scouton was out there in the second half and looked lost. He was getting washed out in the line and ran into the backs of the dline taking himself out of the play. He missed a lot of tackles. Princely looked even worse.  Everos defense is not helping them.

We don't have the personnel to field a strong front 7 in a 3-4 defense. They need to transition to a 4-3, but I don't think Tepper would allow it. DB would thrive in a 4-3 as a NT if he had at least one legit pass rusher on the line with him.

They ran a 4-3 almost the entire game yesterday. You see what happened. Just watch the dline in the next game and you will see how much they go to a 4-3 base during a game. It's not as simple as saying just switch to 4-3. They do not have the personnel for either. Its a mishmash bunch of career backups and a couple of starters thrown in. All requested by Evero under Dom Capers tootilage.

- This is the only game I will give Bryce a pass on. I still want to believe in him and a lot of teams opening week dont look good. But he made mistakes that impacted the game directly. Intereception turned into 7, fumbled ball missed on a field goal opportunity, underthrown ball to Renfrow was a easy 7 but had to settle for FG. 4 and Goal throw away??? What was that..

- I dont care what anyone says at this point, Wallace is not the answer at LB and Rozeboom is an unathetlic depth ILB at best.

- Moehrig had a lot of tackles, but I saw him out of position a lot and missed tackles in key spots. Not a good first impression for me

- Chubba is are best and most consistent player, again. He deserved his money

- McMillan is a #1

- We cant stop the run

- We have ZERO pass rush

- Evero needs to go!!

- Legette is still incredibly raw..

I'm going to be in the minority, but I thought the run D was solid outside of the 70 yard run - and I think the run D would have been even better if we didn't have ILBs that are complete ass.

The pass rush, on the other hand, was flat out pathetic. Surprised JC and Jackson held up as well as they did in coverage.

Legette is giving me Mingo vibes of he will never develop into anything. Hated the pick when we drafted him, and still hate it now.

Don't think it matters whether you have DB as a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 end when the rest of the front 7 just isn't very good. Dude is going to command double teams regardless on how we line him up.

    • If we pay Bryce like a franchise QB we're completely and utterly buttfuged.
    • In my view, the realistic expectation for this team to compete will start 2027.  At that time, I think we could be looking at the following (this is HIGHLY speculative):   QB:  You know, Bryce.  I am not a fan, but they don't ask me.  But there is reason for hope--and here it is.  Bryce will be entering his prime.  Since we are likely to pay him, there will be changes that I include throughout this exercise--I realistically speculate on what they are going to do with Bryce and then I realistically speculate on what means in terms of the cap and other positions. Bryce HAS IMPROVED.  The idea is that if you give him more weapons and protection, that will continue.  His career:   At this rate, if his growth continues, by 2027 we should expect nearly 30 TDs and about 12 Interceptions and a Rating of about 98.  His completion percentage should settle at 65-66% or so.  If that happens, you can win with it. The following stats demonstrate how the Panthers will be able to afford it (and re-sign Ickey) My guess is they will require about $60m per year. This is why rookies who can play are important.  It also helps us see the blueprint.  You may disagree, but this is the cruel realities of the salary cap. Robert Hunt:  Cut post June 1 and save $19m.  Who do you replace him with?  Ickey. Tershawn Wharton:  Cutting him saves nearly $15m.  We should all hope to see Aaron Hall (UDFA) make the roster and play well.  Regardless, this is a position we would likely have to address in the next draft. Trevin Moehrig:  Cutting Moehrig as the starting SS saves this team $16.5m.   Ransom will be on year 3 of a cheap rookie deal and should be more than ready to take the reins.  their styles are similar.  Furthermore, FS Wheatley (R, 4th round) will be starting. Taylor Moton:  So much depends on his knee, but I have an idea that he can play another 3 years.  extending him could save the team about $5m per year.  Cutting him outright would save the team about $21m. In the most drastic situation, we have to cut Moton and the other three players mentioned.   We would need (in all likelihood) a starting DT and RT.  It is possible that the DE would be addressed, but Wharton's production (so far) could be equaled by a rookie.  Look for a cut free agent and a 2027 draft pick here.  If you cut Moton, you save $21m, and that would be the only big hole to fill.  Having Ickey at RG gives you some depth at T, and Ickey could be the guy.  T could be pick in the 2027 draft (first round), fwiw.  It saves you $21m while costing you $5m, for example. We get younger, creating a core of Freeling, Hecht, and the RT first rounder in 2027) along with Ekownu (second contract in the $15m range, and Lewis, whose contract would be in the $16m range if not extended.)  The OL cuts (Hunt, Moton) would save $40m.  The OL would get younger and still solid with veterans at G.   By cutting Wharton (no brainer if his play stays the same) and Moehrig (good player--but we have Ransom on a rookie contract who would not be that much of a drop off--if any) in addition to Hunt and Moton, we would save over $70m in cap room. We would be able to give Bryce bag  and we would have enough to re-sign Ickey (if the knee is not too risky) to a Guard contract (probably at a discount, coming off that injury).  Furthermore, we could add a RT in the draft (or a RG if Ickey moves to RT) and that would be the only large hole to fill. Correct my logic if you see issues-- On defense, in addition to the aforementioned, Scott ($2m contract) is out, replaced by a 4th round rookie contract. CB Jackson's contract ($7.8m) expires and he is (possibly) replaced by a rookie contract.  At Edge, patrick Jones II's $10m contract expires and he is likely a reserve, and his role is absorbed by Phillips, Scourton, Princely, and possible an UDFA like Isaiah Smith or a 2027 draft pick.   These productive developmental players over the past 2 drafts will pay huge dividends.  On paper, I see the team getting much younger and possibly better while cutting nearly $100m and reallocating that money to get more production.
    • If everything played out and that last thing happened, I probably just quit.
