I’m trying to be positive on Bryce Young, but….

Cam took most of his nasty shots in the pocket and his injury came off a chase down. He also got head hunted but that gets called now for sure ...... Right?????

I think honestly it was just a accumulation of hits.  They just build up over time.  Thats my theory anyway.

The super bowl and then the first game of the next year he took some absolutely nasty blows, I remember early on he destroyed a Washington corner and that poo has to add up

What bothers me more than the 4th down blunder or his inability to slide and overall carelessness with the football, is that every. single. play, Bryce switches something at the line, or redirects a WR or blocker with about 4 seconds on the play clock, then claps in desperation to get the snap before the delay of game penalty.  Every. single. play.

It's mind boggling he's this out of sync, or the communication between he and DC is that broken.  Something like this can be fixed in an off-season, or TC, or even pre-season if DC elected to call plays and put Bryce in the game.  But we know that doesn't happen here.

A lot of people really overrated the "improved" Bryce. He basically just went from being the worst starting QB in the league to maybe middle of the pack. It just seemed relatively great because he was so completely awful previously.

There are two Bryces.

the “is this the worst quarterback my eyes have ever seen” version

and the

”oh, he made a couple of throws and he didn’t lose this game” version

and we’ve seen version 1 90% of his career

I tried.

I’ve been down on him since he came to Carolina. Even when he was doing “well” at the end of last season, I still wasn’t sold because his numbers still didn’t pop out. He was still putting up game manager numbers. He had a really good game against ATL, and with that I told myself I’d be ok with him getting this season to start.

After this past performance, I am squarely on the get rid of him train. All this inconsistency; I’m good on it. Ready to move on. I could see him playing decent down the stretch like he did last year, but the pressure will have been relieved by then. Ready to move on.

Nothing wrong with being a Game Manager. But Game Manager's worth keeping don't lose 48-14 to a Division opponent toward the end of the season.

I said this several times in the past month. He was so bad that suddenly playing like a Top 20 QB made him look like Mahomes.

That shoulder happened agaist the chargers late 2016 chasing down an INT....  that was the one that f'd him up he should have had surgery in the offseason, TJ WATT finished him.

That 4th and 1 play near goal line just sealed the deal for me that we need to move on from him. I’m still asking myself , why in the hell did he throw it away. Then when I see the replay and there was a wide open WR right infront of him,  it just solidifies the fact he does not have that “it” factor that comes along with the #1 pick. We need to move on after this year.

Gut-wrenching stuff right here for the #Panthers . Looks like we have a rub concept dialed up for XL here but TM4 runs the wrong route and keeps the DB in the area.

If you watch closely enough BY9 looks it off immediately as he sees TM4 running up field instead of cutting in. XL would have been the target here. This also explains TM4 going up to BY9 after commercial break and tapping his chest as if he was saying "my bad."

We can chalk it up to rookie mistakes. I do wish BY9 did try to throw an eligible ball here, but at this point the only eligible target on this side of the field was JT and I don't think BY9 ever saw him.

I wasn't a fan of going empty on this play but seeing the film it does appear to be the right play call just bad execution.

You can see both XL and BY are frustrated at the play's end.

If that wasn't a throw away but an actual pass attempt, then he should be cut right now, not tomorrow, not even just "today" but right this very second.

Dave said in the presser that apparently he thought XL was gonna go to the back pylon.  So it was an actual attempt…  to a WR that was running towards him and the front pylon, towards the back pylon, and still a solid 10-15 ft off the ground.

To me, that sounds like he’s making an excuse to defend his player. It would sound terrible if he came out and said he threw it away. Granted, this doesn’t sound much better.

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
