Cam on First take today, his comments on Smith’s fan statements

Recommended Posts

Here’s the thing I’ve been to games all over the country, Cowboy games, Redskins, Seahawks, Broncos, Cardinals, Jets, Vikings, Jaguars, San Fran…all NFC south

Some of these franchises have solidified a die hard fan base and generations through strings of high level success. And were able to do so with a longer history.

You just can’t compare.

now some have not and those you can absolutely tell a difference. There are very very few that have that.

Browns come to mind…chiefs didn’t have poo before their winning which will solidify a die hard fanbase

when the franchise is so inconsistent, with virtually no history, and along periods of losing, this is what happens.

Winning consistently will get you that fanbase smitty wants i don’t buys it’s the city bullshit

Cam didn't necessarily disagree with Steve. He experienced the lack of culture here firsthand in his early years as many fans know all too well. His response was that Steve only knows how to be who he is but at the end of the day this is a small market it isn't L.A. or Boston or New York etc. It is Carolina and the team represents two states. And fans have become weary and frustrated and fed up and they need some semblance of hope. It's a tough situation all around.

The team and the players bring the culture, the fans respond. Smith can shut the fug up to be honest. We've been below dog poo for 8 years, tickets are 150 bucks each who is breaking the bank to watch a trash product

A crazy stat is that the Charlotte metro area is projected to have the same population as the Boston metro area in 25 years.

They talking about being 1-15 and their issue isn’t that they were getting their asses kicked, and earned that record, I didn’t hear anything about that - they criticize the fans for making them feel bad. The fans? Where is your pride? And you are making serious bank going

Yeah, I don't disagree.

I am also skeptical of how close to the hot seat these guys really are.

1-15.

I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against.

This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons.

We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won

Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport.

I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.
