We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow

Yea, I want my guy to get more passes, but this has NOTHING to do with that.

I get the "you play to win the game" mantra, but at the same time, I'm absolutely sick of winning meaningless games, and we're never going to be in meaningful games until we have our QB situation solved.

This year... I'd rather lose a game where we get answers about Bryce (in either direction) than win a game where we get absolutely zero answers on him.

Again, we can't go into next year not knowing if he's our long term solution.  We had 17 games to decide that, he's looked terrible in the first 2 and we just effectively tossed the 3rd into the trash.

Every game we don't gain more answers about Bryce is a loss, whether we win or lose the game, it's just the way this season is going to be and I'll never be convinced otherwise.

Sorry, but not sorry, because I want to win over the next 10 years than win a few meaningless games this year.

I'm where you are. We're 7 years into this rebuild and we need to know if Bryce is our QB for the next 5 years. To pay 40-50m AAV for a QB when we don't really know what he can or can't do because we've never pushed the issue is a problem. Today was the opportunity, up by a lot with no risk of losing to open it up. We didnt. We missed a perfect opportunity to evaluate with no risk of loss in a game situation.

Also another way to evaluate Bryce is to see how he performs in games that matter. In order to have these games you need wins.

you can also look at how he played today against what was probably atlanta's worst game since the super bowl and he couldn't move the offense at all, even when the game was still within 2 scores.

Idk, Bryce had some good 3rd down balls that were dropped...3 of them by Tet. There are a lot of chances to get and be better here. We just played MOSTLY competent football today and that was refreshing.

He has looked good and passes the eye test for sure, but there are still some catches he needs to make as a contested catch guy.   He has had some drops.  Hes got the hands for it but it feels like his hands are a half second slow sometimes.

There have been some incompletions on pass attempts to him.

But I'm rather sure today's screen pass was his first actual drop this season.

Just because he's a great contested catch guy, doesn't mean every contested catch he doesn't make mean it was a drop.

you took off the whole week last week because bryce was so bad

no one is asking you to watch the film and misinterpret it.

I am. Dude is the only person on here who still puts in efforts and creates posts that have some sort of film breakdown. All the other good posters left because all this place does is complain ad nauseam.

But the point is, given how the game went, we weren't going to lose this game if we let Bryce air it out in the 2nd half.

And THAT is what I'm frustrated with.

We had an opportunity to let Bryce gain some confidence by playing without fear of losing the game, but we didn't remotely take that chance.

I keep going back to the number 9... After the opening drive, we only had 9 targets to WRs the rest of the game.

That's an absurd stat for a team that is needing to decide if their QB can be a long term solution or not, regardless of the game situation.

Look man you are going to have a hard time convincing me that a team missing 2 WRs and 2 OL needed to step back and air it out against a team that has been playing very well rushing the passer after getting a strong lead. That is just bad football in my eyes. He aired it out all day last week. There will be plenty of tape for us to look at.

I know you're a huge TMac fan (I am too but not as much as you) but this isn't how coaches think. You play to win the game with the best chance possible. Tmac got targeted plenty btw and had a few drops by his own standards.

Exactly, my frustration today is with the play calling.

We had a chance to let Bryce play loose and see what he can do, we didn't even attempt to take advantage of it in the slightest.

I'm jealous of the fans who can legitimately get excited about games like today after how everything has gone since the 2015 season.

I'm so sick of celebrating a few random wins each year, I'm done with it.  I legitimately would be more excited about Bryce looking like a stud in a game we lose than what happened today.

Because at least that scenario helps us long term, today literally doesn't help us one bit.  And hell, for a fan base that has been calling for our DC to be fired, if anything, a game like this should just piss those people off more if you genuinely think he's a bad coach and needs to go, as this isn't going to help that happen either.

there's an entire youtube industry of people "watching film" to white wash bryce young. you don't need a cheap imposter here

your time is worth more than that.

I swear we could win the Super Bowl and some people would still make a post complaining about something.

I honestly think they go around looking for things to complain about. It's the strangest thing I have ever seen.
